About Confederation College

Founded in 1967, Confederation College is a provincially financed college of applied arts and technology located in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. It is Northwestern Ontario's only public college and has a service area of over 550,000 square kilometres. The college provides a diverse range of full-time, part-time, and online courses in business, engineering, health, and a variety of other fields. It has been named an Indigenous Education Leader because it assists in the development of policy for Indigenous learning in post-secondary education.

Services and Facilities

Surrounded by beautiful gardens, a river, and a network of walking pathways, the main campus of Confederation College is built on 130 acres of park-like terrain in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The college is credited with being the first educational institution in Ontario to have a comprehensive student mental health and well-being strategy. It houses the college's School of Aviation as well as the offices of the Student Union. In addition, Dryden, Marathon, Sioux Lookout, Fort Frances, Kenora, Red Lake, Geraldton, and Wawa all have Confederation College of Canada regional campuses.

International students can take advantage of both on-campus and off-campus resources at Confederation College.

The Thunder Bay campus is solely responsible for students who choose to live on campus and provides a variety of housing options with varied amenities. The housing charges include a furnished suite, internet access, common area lounges, and an outdoor barbeque area.

International students have access to a number of off-campus housing alternatives in Canada as well. Students can choose from options like Studio flats, paid guest facilities, and shared housing complexes.

Financial scholarships, grants, and bursaries are also available to aid students with their educational fees. Overseas students are awarded scholarships, bursaries, awards, and grants every year through internal and external scholarship programs. Bursaries are granted based on the factors like the educational program a student has chosen, their financial situation, and others.
