Can I work more than 40 hours on PGWP?

An open work permit (PGWP) is given to post-graduate international students who graduate from a Canadian program of study. With a PGWP, you can work for any employer and as many hours as you want, anywhere in Canada.

A foreign national must be at least 18 years old and have studied full-time in Canada for at least 8 months to be eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit.

How long does it take to get a PGWP?
The processing time for a PGWP can range from 80 to 180 days. While waiting for your PGWP, you can work in Canada if you applied prior to the expiration date of your student permit.
