The University of Sussex is a public research university located in Falmer, Sussex, England. Its campus is surrounded by the South Downs National Park and it is a short distance away from central Brighton. The University received its Royal Charter in August 1961, the first of the plate glass university generation,and was a founding member of the 1994 Group of research-intensive universities.
University of Sussex International Study Centre
Studying at the International Study Centre will develop your confidence, boost your English language skills and give you the academic knowledge you need to succeed in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Sussex. The International Study Centre programmes are provided by Study Group in collaboration with the University of Sussex.
Study Group is a global leader in preparing international students for academic success. We provide English language courses and university preparation courses to students from around the world. We have been working in collaboration with the University of Sussex for more than ten years. In this time, we have helped several thousand students prepare for success in their degree studies.
As international education experts, we teach programmes specially developed for students like you. We’ll help improve your English, teach you study skills and ensure you have the academic knowledge you need to progress to the University.
You will study in our International Study Centre on the University of Sussex campus, where you will become part of University life from your first day. You will be living and learning with other international students, taught by expert teachers. We will help you become familiar with UK culture and with the British education system, so that you can easily adapt to your classes and your new home. When you have finished your course at the International Study Centre, provided you meet the required grades, you will progress directly to degree study at University of Sussex.
Study Group is the first private pathway provider to be accepted on to the Office for Students (OfS) Register of English higher education providers. This means we meet the OfS requirements for course quality, academic standards, student support and student protection. Since 1 August 2019, International Study Centre students have been able to access the same range of benefits as students attending other UK public universities.

Accomodation
Studying in the UK is a new experience, but living with other students is the best way to experience student life. You’ll be able to make new friends from around the world, supporting each other through student life and enjoying everything the city of Brighton has to offer.
University-managed accommodation is located on-campus and off-campus, in the residential areas of Brighton and Hove. It is allocated based on availability. If you secure University-managed accommodation, all associated fees will be payable to the university.
On-campus Accommodation:
A variety of rooms are available on campus, in eight modern student residences: Brighthelm, Lewes Court, East Slope, Park Houses, Park Village, Stanmer Court, Swanborough and Northfield.
- Single and ensuite room options (standard rooms have a shared bathroom; en suite rooms have their own bathrooms).
- Rooms have secure locks and include: bed, wardrobe and drawers, desk and chair, bookshelves and a mirror. They also have telephone and internet access.
- Located within a 10-minute walk away from the International Study Centre, academic buildings and facilities.
- Surrounded by beautiful countryside and walking distance away from campus restaurants, shops and cafés.

Admissions Requirements
The following minimum requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to Study Group - University of Sussex International Study Centre
- International students are considered on case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to. Please visit the course information page to find the admission requirement.
- Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
- Should provide the certificate issued by the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) that compares educational credentials from other countries to educational standards in UK.
- You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.
Please note:- If you are not a UK citizen or a permanent resident of UK, you must obtain a valid study permit before you come to UK.
