  • UniSA’s Mawson Lakes campus boasts contemporary, industry-standard teaching and research facilities for students studying STEM programs. Technical facilities include immersive virtual teaching environments, and laboratories focused on robotics, augmented reality, geotechnical engineering, and more.
  • The campus hosts several internationally recognised research institutes and centres, including the Future Industries Institute and the Australian Research Centre for Interactive and Virtual Environments (IVE), and enjoys collaborative links with high tech companies in the adjacent Technology Park.

  • Pridham Hall: Students assemble there to mark significant events, milestones, and accomplishments related to college life. Graduations, events, and UniSA Sport are held at the Hall, with a specially constructed theatre. The Hall serves as the centre for sports and fitness in City West and has a swimming pool with track and recreational areas with a fully equipped fitness centre

What you'll learn

This is a very flexible degree. You can select two majors from the following fields:

  • Applied physics: allows you to pursue in-depth studies in advanced materials, computational physics and medical health physics
  • Biology for Science: includes plant and animal biology, cell biology, physiology, environmental biology, biochemistry and introductory biotechnology
  • Chemistry for Science: offers studies in both physical and inorganic chemistry
  • Ecosystem sciences: looks at environmental sciences and policy including the contemporary concepts of ecosystem management and sustainable development that link natural and social systems, providing a solid foundation in natural sciences and field research techniques.
  • Geoscience and Biogeochemistry: combines the study of chemical, physical, geological and biological processes that shape the natural environment, with an emphasis on problems such as climate change, environmental pollution and landscape modification. Investigate the Earth System and the dynamic interactions that govern global change from the microscopic to the macroscopic scale.
  • Mathematics and statistics: investigates core studies in applied mathematics, statistics and optimisation.

Environmental Studies & Earth Sciences

Bachelor of Environmental Science

In this degree you will address today’s scientific issues and explore how humans interact with the environment, how we can manage it sustainably, and how we can better influence positive attitudes to bring about a better future for all.

What you'll learn

Your learning will cover biology, ecology, geography, earth and soil science, water and coasts, pollution monitoring, conservation, ecotourism and social sciences. To develop strong skills in an area that interests you, you can select from a range of environmental electives in second and third year to tailor your degree, whilst still maintaining a broad, comprehensive training in environmental sciences. All students will obtain a minor in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and, depending on elective choices, another minor in Community Engagement and majors in Ecology and Conservation or Environmental Quality and Earth Sciences.

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Software Development) will see you develop specialist expertise in the creation of computer software and applications, preparing you for a rewarding career in this high demand area of ICT. The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to the University of South Australia

  • International students are considered on a case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
  • Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
  • Financial support statement (original bank statement and sponsor letter).
