The Graduate Diploma in Environmental Science has been developed in response to industry demand. Along with the graduate certificate and master, it has been designed to meet the growing demand for skilled resource management practitioners.

What you'll learn

You will develop the skills to understand and manage resources within a sustainability framework. Your courses will cover areas such as ecological economics, community partnerships and natural resource management. You will also take three advanced, sustainability-focused electives.
 

Civil and structural engineers are responsible for the infrastructure and resources that keep our cities, towns and rural areas functioning. They focus on the design and construction of buildings, bridges and other structural components of infrastructure projects.

What you'll learn

In your first year, you will develop a strong, general foundation in engineering before commencing your civil engineering courses in second year. During your third year, you will start taking introductory structural engineering courses, such as structural analysis and steel and timber design, with your final year primarily focused on specialised structural courses including earthquake and masonry engineering and cold-formed steel design.

At least half of your honours year will involve a major project. Projects are generally supported by industry clients or based in a research area like the Sustainable Infrastructure and Resource Management concentration. The Bachelor of Information Technology (Networking and Cybersecurity) will see you focus on the security of business information systems in small to large enterprises. You will gain an in-depth theoretical understanding, as well as the practical skills needed to identify, analyse and mitigate risks in the management of a secure network.

During your first year of study you will gain a solid foundation in networking, database development, programming fundamentals and systems analysis and design, before focusing on your networking and cybersecurity major that will you see you studying:

What you'll learn

In the Graduate Diploma in Data Science you will learn current techniques in data science, and how to apply this knowledge professionally. You will develop:

At least half of the honours year involves a major project. You will take the lead as an engineer in a project environment, working with industry, a government organisation, or an academic research area. There is also the option to do a full-semester internship in your honours year.
