The Bachelor of Engineering Advanced (Honours) is designed for high academic achievers to undertake advanced engineering topics and gain substantial research experience. This unique engineering program also includes the WSU-UNSW Collaborative Program, offered exclusively to the Electrical, Mechanical and Robotics and Mechatronics majors within the Bachelor of Engineering Advanced (Honours) program.Challenge yourself to be the best. The Bachelor of Engineering Advanced (Honours) is designed to meet Engineers Australia professional accreditation requirements. Focus on a discipline area by selecting a major in Advanced Manufacturing, Civil, Construction, Materials, and Sustainability Engineering, or join the WSU-UNSW Collaborative Program by selecting a major in Electrical, Mechanical or Robotic & Mechatronics. In addition, you can further specialise by selecting a minor from a wide range of recommended subject sets that will complement your chosen discipline.

Advanced Manufacturing

Manufacturing is continuously transforming as it integrates automation, analytics, intelligence, digitisation, and Internet of Things (IoT) into physical operations. In this major, you integrate techniques and methods to improve the sustainability and efficiency of manufacturing taking advantage of digitisation tools. Our Design and Technology degree delivers a sound knowledge of design from both a theoretical and a practical standpoint.

This program can lead to multiple career outcomes, including product design, packaging, rapid prototyping, 3D modelling, exhibition design and secondary school teaching (with additional degrees). You will gain a comprehensive knowledge of all design areas, but also the flexibility to specialise.

It is industrial designers, incorporating a lateral and cross-disciplinary approach to problem solving, who create the most useful products.

The primary focus of our Industrial Design program is ensuring that our graduates are completely industry-ready, able to think strategically and provide innovative design solutions in a commercial context. The program promotes an awareness of the place of design in society and its effect on people, the environment and the economy, and provides students with the ability to work independently or collaboratively.

Design Practice

This major has a focus on change, digital innovation and incorporates simulation and incubators for students who wish to pursue a corporate design role, or build their own start-up business generating new value and driving dynamic careers.

The Accounting major equips you with the expert skills to create a career as an accounting specialist. You will be prepared to succeed in a range of roles in accounting practices, and also in both public and private enterprises. In this major you will develop in-depth knowledge of accounting, supported by knowledge of law, economics, and finance. Accounting major units focus on the fundamentals of financial and management accounting, as well as accounting information and corporate systems.

If you are seeking professional accreditation, you will also undertake specialised units in taxation and audit and assurance. The core units in the Bachelor of Business will provide you a foundation of business knowledge and develop your skills in innovation, career planning, and numeracy.

Accounting

The Accounting major builds on this knowledge and skills in an applied discipline based context. Accountants are in high global demand by enterprises in corporate, public, and not-for-profit sectors. The Bachelor of Business (Accounting) is accredited with and satisfies the pre-admission educational requirements for membership of CPA Australia (CPA), Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).

Completion of this degree will allow students to claim a number of exemptions from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in obtaining the CIMA Professional Degree. Note: Accreditation is currently being sought for the online offering of the Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and for program 6037 Diploma in Business/Bachelor of Business.

Bachelor of Architectural Design

The Bachelor of Architectural Design focuses on a studio based education that fosters creative thinking, hands-on making, collaboration, and interdisciplinary integration.You will be provided with a combination of the skills and knowledge required by contemporary architects, including studies in spatial design, graphic communication, history and theory of architecture, digital design and fabrication, construction technology, and professional studies to meet all the accreditation pathway requirements of the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia and in conjunction with the proposed Master of Architecture (Urban Transformation) program.

The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to the Western Sydney University

  • International students are considered on a case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
  • Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
  • Financial support statement (original bank statement and sponsor letter).
  • Passport identification page with machine-readable code visible.
  • Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
  • You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.
