AIM is part of a successful group of companies, which first began in Norfolk, Virginia, in 1969 and has grown to become a network of AIM campuses across the nation. We have maintained a tradition of excellence in education and workforce development throughout the expansion over more than four decades. AIM is well-known for providing high quality, hands-on training to our students in Aviation Maintenance programs . But as time went on, we saw other industry leaders demanding similar skills our aviation students have after graduating. To fill that need, we went beyond aviation to develop related industry technician programs .

Associate of Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology

The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology program provides a graduate with the education and practical skills needed for a position in today’s aviation industry. The program will provide the student a foundation of general education courses, technical skills, and aircraft systems knowledge. The degree program enhances critical thinking skills and provides the student with the opportunity to develop strong writing, mathematical, science, and communication skills, which may lead to greater opportunities for professional growth in the competitive aviation profession. Students learn the specialized skills necessary to work on structures, powerplants, aircraft systems, flight controlled systems, and engine systems, and become eligible and prepared for certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic.

Aviation Institute of Maintenance Indianapolis Campus Admission Requirements

International students must fulfill the general admission criteria and the following requirements.

English language proficiency by achieving either a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 55 or a minimum IELTS score of 5.5.
Financial capability to pay tuition fees and other expenses or demonstrate their eligibility for financial aid.
Valid visa.
Evidence of completing a secondary school program equivalent to high school in the United States.
International diplomas and certificates can be verified through a corporate-approved credential translation and evaluation service.
A valid passport with an expiration date of at least 6 months past the course completion date is necessary.
