The objective of the accountancy major is to educate students for professional careers in public, industrial, governmental, and not-forprofit accounting. To this end, the program provides a broad educational experience for students and gives them a background for completing professional accounting examinations such as the CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) and CMA (Certified Management Accountant). Accountancy majors may consider a minor in either management information systems or computing and information technology. Contact an advisor in computer science for details on the CIT minor. Students interested in financial management are encouraged to complete a series of accountancy and finance courses designed to prepare them for the CFM (Certified Financial Manager) exam. This major also provides an excellent undergraduate background for a degree in law.

Students who plan to take the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) exam should pursue the Master of Accountancy program upon completion of the bachelor program in order to meet the education requirements of the Accountancy Board of Ohio.

Transfer students who major in accountancy should note that at least 20 credit hours of their accountancy courses must be taken at Wright State.

The department has a chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the national accountancy honorary fraternity.

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting

Professionally bound students may select BFAs in either Acting or Musical Theatre. These degrees both require students to master fundamental skills in Acting, Movement, Voice and Speech. Acting students continue with focus on a wide range of contemporary and period styles, with intensive focus in classical acting, stage combat and vocal skills. Musical Theatre students continue with a range of courses focusing on the broad ranger of styles from operetta to the most contemporary works. Musical Theatre majors study dance daily and intensive vocal performance. The professional acting and musical theatre programs are each an intensive, four-year progression of studies in acting, voice, movement, dance, and singing. Because courses in the Acting and Musical Theatre acting programs follow a set sequence, students are generally admitted only in the fall quarter. The Professional Actor Training Program is limited by audition to only selected, superior students who show promise of high achievement in acting and/or musical theatre. Retention in the Professional Actor Training Program is determined by periodic review. Students are retained in the program based on their growth and development as judged by the acting faculty

You can earn a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a concentration in art and art history through Wright State's Department of Art and Art History. The B.A. is for you if you wish to combine a liberal arts education with studies in art. You can also pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree with concentrations in painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture, if you have decided to pursue a more intense and professional program in studio art.

B.F.A. degrees can be combined with an art education component or allow you to supplement your Fine Arts education with a Graphic Arts certificate from Wright State's Lake Campus. The Graphic Arts Certificate is designed for the art student interested in supplementing the curriculum with graphics-based technology courses. It will increase their knowledge and career potential in a variety of art-related fields. Students will gain hands-on experience through a variety of digital graphics-based software programs. This is an excellent university

The university is fantastic and full of energy. The educational system is of excellent caliber. Whatever subject you select, it's an outstanding college. You'll find a combination of educational, entertaining, cultural, literary, and other activities. The food selection is limited, and the housing is outdated and in need of replacement. The library is a terrific place to study in your own private space and to take advantage of the innovative and cutting-edge technology available to students. There are numerous cafes where you can sit and socialise with your friends.

Scholarships and part-time jobs available

Instructors and staff were supportive and understanding. They provided students with opportunities and resources to help them study effectively. Excellent careers service that offers student support. College facilities include a well-stocked library, a computer lab, and a clean study space. The college offers student support services. Scholarships and part-time jobs are available to help students cover the cost of studying. My living environment is very secure and I enjoy athletics. The food is pretty good, and there are some healthy, nutritious options.

Still miss the days

I remember the day I visited my university as a student. As a result, my life might have changed forever. Seeing the campus and the infrastructure filled me with a feeling of pride and motivation. I was encouraged to work hard, create new opportunities and be a better person. In my university, I got a lot of support from great mentors and other staff members. The university had a lot of programs to support students with college and personal development. The university had a really vibrant campus life and I remember having a lot of fun. It was really hard to leave the campus, but I will always be thankful to my university for the experience.
