Modesto A. Maidique Campus
Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC), the original home of FIU, takes up 5 blocks between 117th and 107th on Tamiami Trail in West Miami-Dade. Founded on an abandoned airfield, our campus has seen tremendous growth since opening its doors in 1969.

Here, you’ll find some of our largest and most recognized schools and colleges. Students can eat, sleep and play without ever leaving MMC. At 342 acres, it's a big campus, so Panther Mover is a free and convenient way to get around. At MMC, life at FIU has never been better.

Florida International University Modesto A. Maidique Campus Services & Facilities

Services at the Modesto A. Maidique Campus include wellness and recreation centre, residence halls, dining places, a library, bookstore, and mediums for student media. Its in-house Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum hosts various exhibitions while housing its permanent collection of thousands of art objects.

Several activities, events and workshops are conducted in the campus to influence student interests, and provide practical skills while enriching their learning experience. The recreational space and student centre can be accessed in between classes. Student support is available throughout the students’ time at the campus.

Common criteria for everyone to apply to Florida International University are:

The student should be 18 years of age.
The student must have taken either TOEFL, IELTS, PTE or an equivalent English language proficiency exam.

The applicant is required to submit their original transcripts from all the academic institutions they have attended (the transcripts must be translated, if the originals are not in English).

Had a fantastic experience

The campus is really peaceful, and I enjoyed my time there as a student. Meeting students from all over the world and establishing new friends was one of the most memorable aspects of my time at this school. My knowledgeable instructors, who were always willing to assist me, taught me a lot. Because many of the lecturers are industry specialists, I was able to benefit from their knowledge. The college's infrastructure is outstanding! In many ways, it's lovely, large, and magnificent. Everything on campus is designed with students in mind, from classrooms to on-campus housing. Other amenities, such as a library, workout center, canteen, and health and career counseling, make this a truly remarkable location.

Campus life is amazing

I had a fantastic time. The instructors are quite supportive of the students, and the faculty is super helpful. The college has all of the infrastructure needed, facilities, and equipment. The campus housing is well-kept, with delicious food and fast Wi-Fi. The classrooms are spacious and well-lit, with enough natural light. Students and professors are both extremely helpful. The campus has a huge open area, a basketball court, a restaurant, and a gym, so living is great. However, what I enjoy the most about college is the range of clubs and activities available. Career fairs and support is available, which is beneficial.

Several student organisation makes the campus fun-filled

FIU has a large student body and it is one of the best universities in Florida. The faculty and staff are very helpful, and the campus life is pretty good. There are many student organizations and you can join them and make friends with like-minded people. As I studied international business, the curriculum was industry-oriented and the professors were very helpful. The only downside is the weather, as FIU is located in Florida, but rest of the things are pretty good.

My experience in my university was amazing.

It was a small institution, but the facilities were amazing. The campus was huge and it was in the heart of the city. It had everything from residential halls, to the gym, to the libraries. The best part was the accessibility of the professors. They were readily available and more than willing to help. The colleges also had an amazing alumni network, who have been very helpful in my career, post-graduation. I also got a lot of financial aid, which was non-repayable. It all combined, made my experience there, one of the best.
