Long Island University (LIU) was founded in 1926. The university is committed to providing high-quality education through teaching excellence and impactful research opportunities. LIU offers over 275 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programs, educating nearly 15,000 students each year across multiple campuses. The University cultivates academic, professional, artistic, and co-curricular opportunities.

The campus offers more professional programs in health care than any other campus in the New York metropolitan area, including the Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy & Health Science, and The Harriet Rothkopf Heilbrunn School of Nursing. Eight campus residence halls are tailored to individual needs, from quiet study to semi-private suites. The majority of our residential population is comprised of undergraduate students and some graduate students enrolled in full-time study.

Living on campus is a great opportunity. As you consider your future housing decisions, please consider on-campus housing because:

Living Off-Campus In A Home Or Apartment
Living off campus can provide students with greater independence. While it is certainly possible to live off-campus without a car, if you choose to do so, we recommend you identify a location that is near public transportation.

LIU Brooklyn campus comprises nine academic buildings, an athletic and recreation complex, an adjoining parking facility, and one on-site and two off-campus residential buildings. It also houses LIU Pharmacy, the university's oldest school.
