About Monroe College

Established in 1933, Monroe is a private for-profit college and graduate school based in New York City. It has three campuses in the Bronx, New Rochelle, and Saint Lucia with an extension site in Manhattan. Initially, it was known as the Monroe School of Business. Later on, in 1972, it became an accredited junior college, which was named "Monroe Business Institute" and then officially named "Monroe College. It is regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

Monroe College offers more than 45 associate, bachelor’s and master’s programs in multiple areas of study through its 7 academic schools namely Business and Accounting, Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management, Information Technology, Allied Health Professions, Criminal Justice, Education and Nursing. In addition to this, the college also offers more than twenty online programs in Business, Criminal Justice, Health, Hospitality, IT and more.

The college offers a valuable range of facilities for students. It has spacious classrooms, state-of-the-art facilitate labs, huge libraries, beautiful infrastructure and much more. It provides students with comprehensive online libraries and research tools and resources in addition to campus resources and reference help. 

Innovative hands-on training facilities are a highlight of the college, enabling students the opportunity to experience real-world learning right in the classroom. It offers wonderful career services and internship opportunities in Monroe’s partner companies. In addition to this, the college has a robust intercollegiate athletics program that invites students to participate as observers, competitors, and supporters. It houses multiple athletic teams including cross country, softball, field and track.

Monroe College student life is filled with tons of opportunities and activities. Between the over 50 clubs and nearly 700 student members, there's always something to do on campus. Monroe competes in the NJCAA Region XV in many sports such as basketball, soccer, cross country, softball, football etc.

Monroe College Accomodation

Monroe College offers a number of convenient on-campus living options for its students. Living units are all located near classrooms, shops, and the New Roc City entertainment and retail complex, which includes movie theatres, restaurants, and an arcade. All the living units are present in the centre of  New Rochelle campus which is a flourishing suburban community in Westchester County. 

Residential halls of the college are well equipped with a computer lounge, fitness centre, cable tv, laundry facilities, common room, etc

Monroe College Scholarships

Monroe College offers many scholarships to students of all ages and gives them the opportunity to get a high-quality education and live a better life. Some scholarships are specific to a certain field or major, while others are more inclusive.

Some of the most famous alumni include Spencer Dinwiddie (Youtube) from the Brooklyn Nets and Samantha Smith (Olympic athlete), whom the university is proud to call a Monroe Falcon.

Monroe College Admission Requirements

Monroe College is dependent on meeting certain criteria, which vary depending on the program to which a student applies. 

 

  • Student should be at least 18 years old before taking admission.
  • Student should be proficient in English and must have taken IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or other equivalent exams.
  • Students are required to submit their original transcripts from all the academic institutions they have attended. If the transcripts are not in English, then students need to submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
