Florida International University (FIU)
In 1965, Florida Senator Robert M. Haverfield introduced Senate Bill 711, which instructed the state Board of Education and the Board of Regents (BOR) to begin planning for the development of a state university in Miami.

Undergraduate Extended Accelerator Pathway (3-Term) - Bachelor of Science Biomedical Engineering

Biomedical engineering weaves a strong life science foundation with multidisciplinary engineering fundamentals for investigating and understanding living systems, using quantitative assessment tools, engineering living systems, and developing novel biomedical sensors and devices. The biomedical engineering undergraduate and graduate degrees provide an education that is at the interface of engineering and biology, concentrated in tissue engineering, biosignals and systems, biomaterials and biomechanics.

There are two tracks available in the upper division program for B.S. in Computer Science. The Computer Science (CS) track should be followed by the student who intends to continue on to graduate study in computer science. The Software Design and Development (SDD) track may be followed by the student who intends to pursue a software engineering career. Undergraduate Academic Accelerator Pathway (2-Term) - Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering

Computer engineers are the brains behind the hardware and software of computers. Our ABET-accredited program emphasizes engineering concepts and design in the varied and rapidly expanding field of computer engineering. Whether you want to go into practice or take on advanced study in computer engineering by pursuing a master’s degree, you’ll get there with our bachelor’s degree.
