Scholarship

Affordable Education
SIUE offers academic excellence that is affordable. Our tuition and required fees are among the lowest of all four-year institutions in Illinois.

Graduate scholarships, fellowships and assistantships are awarded to qualifying students each year helping finance graduate education and providing opportunities for scholarly and creative activities. Additionally, the International GEO Scholarship offers a special tuition rate that is a 50% tuition reduction for academically qualified international students.

As an international student, you are required to show that you have the funds to support yourself for an entire calendar year before you can get a visa.

To help you get an idea of expected costs, please review the estimated tuition, fees and living expenses for one academic year.

Living On-Campus

Living on-campus is a great part of the college experience. We offer a variety of housing options. First year residents live in either Bluff Hall, Prairie Hall or Woodland Hall. Bluff, Prairie, and Woodland Hall residents have the option of a shared bedroom, deluxe private bedroom, or deluxe suite bedroom (Woodland Hall only). Residents apply to live in either a general assignment or to be part of a Focused Interest Community.

Upperclass residents, graduate students and families live in Evergreen Hall or Cougar Village Apartments. Residents can choose between a number of types of space in both Evergreen Hall and Cougar Village. Cougar Village Apartments is home to our graduate housing buildings and the Transfer Focused Interest Community (FIC), in addition to general assignments.

All University Housing facilities are fully furnished, air conditioned and have access to wireless internet and expanded cable television, among other amenities. Each facility has accessible living units available that are specially designed for students with disabilities. Living on campus means living among friends, being close to classes and other campus buildings, gaining access to helpful resources and feeling connected to the University.

On-campus residents benefit from a supportive community, numerous amenities and on-site housing staff, all for a great value. Housing residents foster friendships within their communities, connect with faculty and staff, and take advantage of countless opportunities for personal and academic growth.

Each resident has the opportunity to create a unique experience through a number of different ways:

  • Active involvement in housing student leadership
  • Participation in a Focused Interest Community (FIC), a unique opportunity to live with students who have similar areas of interest or study. These communities foster academic success, faculty interaction and provide specialized programs and activities for residents.
  • Staff interactions
  • Wing community participation
  • And much more!

University Housing offers a variety of resources to support residents at various points in their academic career.
