Housing Information
De Anza College, like most community colleges in the U.S., does not offer any dormitories or on-campus housing, but there are many choices for housing in our area which are in close proximity to shopping, restaurants, and bus routes to the campus. This guide will introduce you to a variety of housing options and offer some tips and considerations to guide you in your housing search. Note that the International Student Programs office staff can only give you suggestions on finding housing; we do not make any housing arrangements for students, nor do we review or endorse any housing opportunities.

Homestay
A homestay is a great way to improve your English, make new friends, get to know American culture, and concentrate on your studies without having to worry about household needs. It is also a great medium-term option for new international students who ultimately might want to rent an apartment, but need time to meet roommates and get familiar with the area. Homestays through the organization below are arranged on a two or three month basis.

De Anza College Services & Facilities

Students at De Anza College will not have trouble finding counselors and academic advisors who understand their position and can assist them in achieving success. These professionals are ready to help them and answer their concerns about a wide range of issues, including graduation and degree requirements, educational goals, academic progress and probation – among other things. Students may find loads of beneficial information on themes that are relevant to them in the wellness Central, which includes first aid, birth control, nutritional advice, sexual health information, and assistance with stress or sadness. In order to close the achievement gap for underserved students, Student Success and Retention Services (SSRS) is dedicated to building an environment that fosters a community of learners and leaders through innovative services and pedagogies that increase retention, persistence, graduation, transfer, and graduation rates for underserved students.

Associate in Arts - Accounting

The Accounting Department at De Anza offers diverse programs designed to meet student needs at all levels.

We offer:

Transfer courses fully articulated with four-year universities that meet the lower division requirement for the Business major.
A curriculum designed for the vocational student looking for specific accounting and computer skills for employment
Specific courses ranging from bookkeeping to advanced tax for those individuals who have targeted their needs for specific skills
Solid preparation for the student who majors in Accounting
An AA degree and Certificates of Completion, Achievement and Proficiency for those students completing required course sequences

Public Safety and Legal Studies

Associate in Arts - Corrections/Probation

The A.A. degree in Corrections/Probation provides the foundational education required for an individual's career entry into the criminal justice field, specifically correctional operations and probation/parole case investigations. The courses range from concepts of criminal law, evidence, investigation and reporting to criminology, aspects of social change, and corrections investigations.

The program has a proud history: It has been offered at the college since De Anza was established in 1967. Today, our classes cover the latest advancements in methodology and technology.

Our instructors have extensive professional experience as judges, police officers, correction and probation officers as well as attorneys. Our graduates are working for public and private agencies throughout the Bay Area and beyond.

Completion of the Art History A.A. degree provides students with a broad overview of the discipline of Art History from a global perspective. The program emphasizes visual literacy and research skills necessary for critical inquiry and analysis of art works, as well as knowledge of the technical processes of studio art relevant to the field of Art History.

De Anza's Art Department emphasizes the teaching of strong technical skills and nurtures each individual's originality in order to prepare students for global inclusiveness through creative engagement.

De Anza College Admission Requirements

Before applying to De Anza University, applicants should be aware of several common prerequisites.

The student must be at least 18 years old when the course begins.

For students from non-English speaking countries, language competence exams such as the PTE, IELTS, or TOEFL, or any other equivalent test, are required.

Before submitting any admission request, students must produce legitimate transcripts (translated if the originals are not in English) from all academic institutions attended.

Infrastructure is excellent

Overall, my experience has been great. The infrastructure is excellent. The campus is quite large. It has a library where you may have access to a variety of resources. The food served in the cafeteria is fresh and delicious. Professors have a lot of experience and are quite helpful. The careers service has been helpful in supporting me in gaining experience during a challenging period. All students should be able to find work. According to alumni at my college, many firms are bringing a package of employment offers to all students. The location is perfect. Counseling is provided by the college to help students prepare for employment and interviews.

Enjoyed being here!

De Anza College has a great reputation in the area and the small campus size made it easier for me to get to know my teachers and fellow students. All my teachers so far have been great at explaining things thoroughly, especially when it comes to difficult computer science material. The curriculum is also very well organized. I feel that I am getting a great education here, but there are also plenty of other opportunities to have a great college experience. Institute is involved in many service activities, and it was great to be able to contribute to the community through these activities.

My experience at my university as a student was great.

It all depends upon what you study and what you want to get out of it. I am an engineer by profession. I studied at a university which gave me an opportunity to explore a diverse field of engineering and technologies. The campus is beautiful and the facilities are world-class. It has great residential facilities for students. I would say it’s the best place to live and study. The best part about this university is the financial aid option. You can get a scholarship. There are also many opportunities for getting a part-time job.
