Suitable if you have a relevant degree such as psychology, linguistics or English Language, this course will empower you to diagnose speech and language problems in babies, children and adults, and design and deliver life-changing treatment plans for those with cleft palate, stammering, hearing impairments, voice disorders and other conditions.

You will learn through a combination of seminars, lectures and practice-based learning, amassing more than 500 hours of professional experience on placements in various clinical or community settings.

Your masters programme will offer a more critical application of your learning than at undergraduate level, and the chance to engage in an extended project that you could showcase as part of your professional portfolio.

Upon graduation, you will be eligible to apply for HCPC registration as a speech and language therapist. You will have the expertise to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide the best possible care for your clients.

Nutrition plays a key part in the promotion of good health and the primary prevention of diet-related illness in communities and populations.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Become a critically reflective practitioner and gain practical experience in our health science and catering laboratories

 You’ll undertake an extended placement in an area such as the food industry, for producers of specialist nutrition products, health promotion or research. With a focus on sound design for film and television, this course will allow you to explore the capture of on-location production sound and studio-based post-production activity.

• Create soundtracks for live action film and animation for a variety of platforms and contexts
• Engage with film and sound studies theory

Explore pressing issues in contemporary politics, including Brexit, climate change and the resurgence of right-wing populism. You’ll gain an in-depth historical perspective including the rise of the nation-state, European imperialism, and the ideological conflicts of the 20th Century.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Examine how historical events and processes have shaped the modern world, its ideologies and political institutions
• Understand how circumstances, chance and human agency have affected global events and processes
• Evaluate theories, methods and approaches relevant to both history and politics and apply these to your studies with confidence and creativity
• Analyse primary sources and the writings of historians and political scientists
• Be introduced to political theory and key issues around governance and international relations

This course blends skills in critical thinking from a historical perspective, evaluation of evidence and consideration of context. You’ll also learn to analyse the ideas, ideologies, policies and institutions that form the foundations of modern politics.

Examine our relationship with the natural environment and learn to understand and consider responses to the challenges of climate change, globalisation, urbanisation, development and regeneration.

As part of your course, you’ll:

Your tutors will deliver theory via lectures before you explore those ideas in smaller seminars. You will complete either a work placement or MBA Consultancy Project; either module will enable you to apply your theoretical knowledge to a real-life business issue, before collecting data and research to identify practical solutions.
