About Dubai Police Academy

Established in 1987, the Dubai Police Academy was officially opened in 1989 with the presence of Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum. The academy's degrees were granted equal status to those of universities in 1992. The first batch of students included 51 cadets and 30 full-time students during the 1987-1988 academic year. The academy began admitting students from other Arabic countries like Oman, Yemen, Lebanon, and Palestinian Territories in 1996-1997. The academy follows international teaching standards and utilizes modern teaching methodologies, including e-learning. In September 2012, the academy introduced e-learning features on its revamped website.

The name of the College was modified to Academy on December 13, 2001. Additionally, a graduate degree in criminal science was introduced in 2002. The Academy was granted accreditation for a master's program in law during the academic year 2003/2004. In 2006, the Academy expanded its offerings to include master's degrees in international trade and investment law, police sciences in security crisis management, and police sciences in criminal investigation. Furthermore, in 2010, the Academy was authorized to award doctoral degrees in law and police sciences, encompassing public, private, and criminal law disciplines.

Dubai Police Academy Admission Requirements

To be eligible for regular evening studies, a student must meet the following requirements

Must be a citizen of the UAE, a national of the Gulf Cooperation Council or other countries as determined by the Board of Directors.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent certificate approved by the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates and a percentage of not less than 75%
Official secondary school certificate/ Academic transcripts
Must be military or civilian personnel working in the police or armed forces or one of its related bodies.
A valid certificate of proficiency test in English: EmSAT, IELTS Academic, TOEFL, or its equivalent. Should have obtained the Emirates Standard English Language Test ( EMSAT ) at 950 degrees, or the equivalent of 450 TOEFL or IELTS 4.5.
.Submit a certificate proving the approval of the applicant’s employer for the program
A certified copy of the secondary school certificate.

A letter from the employer not objecting to joining the program.
