About Clark University

Clark University was founded in 1887 as the first all-graduate institution in the country. Today, Clark promotes a rigorous liberal arts curriculum within the context of a research experience that addresses challenges on a global scale.

For more than 130 years, Clark University has thrived at the nexus of world-class teaching, boundary-pushing discovery, and creative invention. The father of rocket science. The founder of the American Psychological Association. A co-inventor of the birth control pill. Members of our community have always challenged convention and found ways to change our world for the better.

Clark University’s mission is to educate undergraduate and graduate students to be imaginative and contributing citizens of the world, and to advance the frontiers of knowledge and understanding through rigorous scholarship and creative effort.

The University seeks to prepare students to meet the challenges of a complex and rapidly changing society. In students and faculty, Clark fosters a commitment to excellence in studying traditional academic disciplines, as well as innovation in exploring questions that cross disciplinary boundaries. The free pursuit of inquiry and the free exchange of ideas are central to that commitment.

The focus of Clark’s academic program is a liberal arts education enriched by interactions among undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty, and is closely linked to a select number of professional programs. Clark also serves students who wish to continue formal education throughout their lives.

Clark University Accomodation

On-Campus Housing

  • First-Year and Transfer Students
  • Graduate Housing
  • Summer Housing

On-campus housing is available for both undergraduate and graduate students who will be taking courses, conducting research or engaging in other academically related programs during the summer. Each summer a limited number of residence halls and houses will be available for this purpose. If you are already in residence in the spring semester you will be able to transition directly from semester housing to summer housing and vice-versa with no gaps in between.

Each room on campus is equipped with a bed and mattress (extra-long twin), a desk, a chair, bookshelves, a closet or wardrobe, a chest of drawers, and window drapes for each student.
Students typically bring the following items with them to campus: clothing, bedding, toiletries, school supplies, dishes and other cookware, room decorations, additional storage containers.

Off-Campus Housing
Our apartment listing service is powered by Jump Off-Campus, and allows for postings to be listed anytime.  Listings are viewable online through a map which lets users click on a given property to view details, email the landlord, etc.  Postings are priced per month and includes photos.  As a landlord, the advantages of this service are extensive:  Some of the benefits include:

  • No need to visit the RLH Office to post or pay for your listings, all can be done electronically online.
  • No checks or cash necessary – pay instantly with your credit card or through your PayPal account – with no fees added.
  • No deadlines to remember:  Whenever you post begins a 30-day listing.  If you want to post for longer, you can select multiple months as well.
  • Even when your posting expires, or you rent the unit, your property information and photos (if applicable) remain in your account.  Re-listing them is as simple as logging in and clicking activate.
  • Edit your properties on the fly.  If you change price, amenities, etc – you just need to log in and make those adjustments.
  • These listings appeal to potential tenants – they show the tenants photos of the property, and allow them to see the relationship of the property to campus or other rental units.  Incoming graduate students who are not familiar with Clark can now figure out housing availability without physically visiting campus.

Academic clubs provide students with opportunities to meet others who have similar interests and engage in activities they wouldn't otherwise be able to do. Academic clubs can provide mentoring, professional networking, and special events that you won't find in the classroom.

Dhruv Singla

Joining an academic club can help you meet people outside the classroom.

Provides financial aid to students

University scholarships are great because they help you save up so you don't have to work part-time just to pay for your tuition. A university scholarship is a great way to help you get a degree while saving you money so that you can focus on your studies instead of how you're going to pay for your education. Scholarships are a great way to help you get a higher education.

Favorablee learning environment

Beautiful campus with small class sizes so your lecturers have the opportunity to get to know you and your interests. You have the impression of being a part of a small, close-knit community where everyone is kind and truly concerned about one another. Classroom sizes are smaller, allowing for a more conducive learning environment. Career Services provides programs and activities to assist you in attaining your career goals. At the university, there are clubs for everyone, and students build lifelong friendships and memories. The school has a fitness center to keep students fit and healthy. The apartment is fully furnished and secure with many facilities.

Numerous clubs and organizations

The campus is large, and it is a very safe, friendly environment that promotes community connection and diversity. Many of my instructors have been outstanding and intelligent. Students that are intellectually motivated will love their college experience. Academics are respected in this environment. Students can join a variety of clubs and organizations on campus, as well as enjoy a variety of resources and services. It was easy for me to form strong, long-lasting friendships. I was also heavily involved in campus events, extracurricular activities, and sports, allowing us to be a part of a vibrant community. The library is really quite large, and it offered me with all of the materials I required for my project.

Happy to choose Clarks University

Clark University is a small and friendly university, located in Worcester, Massachusetts. At first, I was a little bit worried about going to a smaller university, but I quickly realized that Clark is actually more focused on the students, than other colleges. I believe it's a better fit for me and my personality. Our professors have been extremely helpful during the whole stay at the University, especially with the amount of work we have to do for the program. So overall, I am very happy that I have chosen Clark University for my degree.

Awesome experience

I found the faculty helpful, especially in big courses. We used to get regular feedback and revisions on papers, which was a treat. In the smaller classes I found the teachers extremely helpful. I have always thought that the teachers are the backbone of the educational system, and I have been lucky to have some really good ones in my life. . Regarding campus life, the college puts a lot of effort into it. There are many clubs for people to join and things to do. We also have lot of lectures from brilliant minds. On weekends there are lots of parties, food and fun.
