About CEGEP Gaspe Campus

Located in Québec, a French-speaking province of Canada, the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles is a bilingual (French and English) public institution of higher learning with a student population of approximately 3000. The Cégep has 5 campuses:

Carleton-sur-Mer Campus
Gaspé Campus
Îles-de-la-Madeleine Campus
École des pêches et de l’aquaculture du Québec (Quebec’s School of Fisheries and Aquaculture) located in Grande-Rivière
Montreal Campus

The Cegep’s slogan, "study in a unique natural environment", was chosen because 4 of its 5 campuses are located in a remote region named Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine. It allows students to enjoy an exceptional natural setting. Indeed, according to National Geographic magazine, Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine region is one of the top 20 destinations to visit in the world.

Student success is an institutional priority. From day one of their college education, students have access to various academic support measures including personal academic counselling, a guidance service and teacher-student tutoring. A range of adapted services is also available for students with physical, sensory, neurological, or organic impairment; as well as those with learning disorders or mental health problems. These measures have helped our Cegep achieve a first semester success rate of 84.7% compared to the Quebec college average of 81%.

CEGEP Gaspe Campus Services & Facilities

There are a vast number of student services available at CEGEP, which help the students, both old and new, in numerous different ways. Some of the benefits are mental health and counselling services, sports and recreation facilities, orientation, health and wellness insurance, cultural and social events, research and development initiatives, accessibility service, etc.

Students have access to a variety of academic support services from day one of their college experience, including personal academic counselling, a guidance service, and teacher-student tutoring. Students with physical, sensory, neurological, or biological impairments and those with learning disabilities or mental health issues are provided with a variety of adapted services.

CEGEP Gaspe Campus Accomodation

On-Campus Housing: At CEGEP College, on-campus housing is given according to the college's and students' decisions. The on-campus house is adequately furnished with essential amenities that make staying comfortable for students.

Off-Campus Housing: Students can also explore off-campus housing in the forms of Studio flats, paid guest facilities, shared housing complexes, including others in the nearby areas.

CEGEP Gaspe Campus Admission Requirements

There are some standard requirements which students should keep in mind before applying to CEGEP - Gaspe Campus.

The student should be 18 years old or more at the time of beginning the course.
Students coming from non-English speaking countries must take language proficiency tests like PTE, IELTS, TOEFL or other equivalent exams.
Students need to provide original transcripts (translated if the originals are not in English) from all the academic institutions before making any application request.

Dedicated placement cell

The University provides a world-class infrastructure with a wide range of facilities. The institution has a dedicated placement cell to help students get placed, and the pass-out placement rate is commendable. They also help you in getting placed, if you are interested in it! The teachers here are a great help. They explain concepts in a simple manner and the classroom ambiance is excellent. The people are really nice. The teachers are very helpful. The campus is kept clean.

CEGEP is a wonderful college.

Luckily I got admission to the college and province I wanted to. The surroundings are brilliant and so is the staff at CEGEP. They are ready to help students at every stage and understand them. They did not speed up the curriculum and were available o help in all of the college hours. The sessions were mostly interactive, I think I have gained so many important learnings from this college. They also helped me find a respectable and decently paying job at the end of my program which I am currently working at.

This college has a great atmosphere and, like many large universities, offers a wide range of opportunities. Because the University is so large, you must be the type of student who will seek out and seize opportunities rather than waiting for them to come to you as they would at a smaller institution. There are incredible scholarships available here, and there is no better school to attend if you want to watch winning football and sports in general! Everyone should at least pay a visit to the campus, which speaks for itself! Although Greek culture is widespread, I am not a member of a club and have had no trouble making friends or finding things to do. It's an excellent place to study.
