John Ranney RMT founded the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Vancouver in 1983. WCCMT was the first and only college in British Columbia to offer certified massage therapy education and training.

Services and Facilities

The Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training's Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) has approved WCCMT's program. The extensive framework directs students through an educational program that carefully balances theory and practice. The school's completely prepared best-in-class skilled assistance centre supplements and enhances the homeroom experience with the best-involved experience available in the business.


The West Coast College of Massage Therapy provides off-campus accommodation near the campus. The rented accommodations are fully furnished and safe for students.


WCCMT is pleased to provide students with a variety of scholarship options. The scholarships offered are Harry Goldstein Memorial Entrance Scholarship - WCCMT awards up to five entrance scholarships for every intake of study. Cory Mintz Scholarship Fund - The Cory Mintz Scholarship is awarded annually to a new student from one of the two WCCMT campuses in BC, Canada.

Admission to West Coast College of Massage Therapy - New Westminster is dependent on meeting certain criteria, which vary depending on the program to which a student applies. 

  • Student should be at least 18 years before taking admission
  • Student should be proficient in English and must have taken IELTS, TOEFL or other equivalent exams
  • Students are required to submit their original transcripts from all the academic institutions they have attended. If the transcripts are not in English, then students need to submit translated copies of the same along with the originals.
