About Cambrian at Hanson - International Academy - (Vancouver)

Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology formed an agreement with Hanson Canada in 2005 to establish Cambrian at Hanson. It is a recently established institution of higher education having three campuses: Hanson, Toronto; Hanson, Brampton and Hanson, Vancouver. It offers courses that lead to college degrees or certification programs in a variety of different fields, and it has many satisfied international students. Vancouver campus offers two programs, Business (GBBC) and Tourism and Travel (TTBC), especially for international students. 

In August 2015, Hanson International Academy was awarded the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) designation by the British Columbia government. This award is highly sought after due to its stringent requirements and policy guidelines and is celebrated by this organization as a milestone achievement that demonstrates its sincere interest and commitment to educational excellence for students.

Services and Facilities

The institution offers a number of opportunities that are sure to provide students with a bright future. It offers a variety of features to students that include academic, social and cultural, and often include free or low-cost use of a gym, sports pitches, computer and internet access and disability services. Additionally, it includes medical services, a library, a cafeteria and student centres. As a plus, it also has several student unions and student groups. The campus grounds are great for socializing, and the classrooms are conducive to learning and acquiring knowledge.

The institution has been producing exceptional results in terms of job placements and employability. To help students, the institution regularly organizes on-campus recruitments, job posting services, on-campus work-study programs and co-op placement. The students are more than happy and satisfied with the work opportunities they receive, which is a strong testament to the high calibre of the staff and the education provided. 


College provides residences in two styles, townhouses and dorm styles. Each room has a bed, desk, high-speed internet connection, and plenty of storage space. Living on campus gives students a sense of community that they might not otherwise get. 


College offers a variety of awards, bursaries, and scholarships. Besides these, there are several external awards available for college students. In order to be eligible for these awards, the criteria may vary. It is best to check the criteria well in advance.

Admission to Cambrian at Hanson - International Academy - Vancouver is dependent on meeting certain criteria, which vary depending on the program to which a student applies. 

  • Student should be at least 18 years old before taking admission
  • Student should be proficient in English and must have taken IELTS, TOEFL or other equivalent exams
  • Students are required to submit their original transcripts from all the academic institutions they have attended. If the transcripts are not in English, then students need to submit translated copies of the same along with the originals.
