About Mount Allison University
Mount Allison University is an undergraduate university for liberal arts in Sackville, New Brunswick. Consistently recognized as the Maclean’s top primarily undergraduate university in Canada, it offers over 50 programs, degree and certificate options in arts, science and commerce.
It provides high-quality academic experience through its three faculties – Arts, Science and Social Sciences. The various departments in these faculties impart a range of traditional and unconventional programs, including but not limited to fields like cognitive science, mathematics, economics, drama, environmental science, geo-computing and geoinformation systems, international economics and business, psychology and screen studies and popular culture. Scores of Mount Allison Students have become Rhodes Scholars.
The historically rich and beautiful campus is situated at the Tantramar marshes in Sackville. To enhance the learning experience of students the university offers education in an average class size of 41 with a student teacher ratio of 15:1.
Services and Facilities
The university orients its students towards research through its services. Researchers and faculty at Mount Allison University focus on areas of quality of life and human endeavor including citizenship, culture and human society, climate change, health and ageing, material science, aquatic science, creative practice and performance and visual and material culture. Researchers at the university participate in an array of research initiatives with the private sector, community organizations, provincial organizations and networks.

Mount Allison University houses recreational facilities like a swimming pool, gymnasium, weight room, athletic therapy room, tennis courts, playing fields, skating rink, and golf course for students to access. It also hosts basketball, swimming, volleyball, soccer, badminton matches and has its own men’s and women’s team for all these spots.
Unique residences are offered to students at the university. The community provides safe, supportive, convenient, and personalized spaces to study and socialize. All essential services like internet, room cleaning, laundry, storage, and parcel deliveries are provided by the university. Students can opt for meal plans and access dining, health, and wellness facilities during their stay.
At Mount Allison University, scholarships are awarded based on extracurricular involvement, academic achievement, leadership experience, community service, and work/internship experience.
Some of the notable alumni are Margaret McCain (Former Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick); Kate Beaton (Canadian comic creator); David Myles (Canadian songwriter), John Reardon (Canadian actor), and Michael de Adder(Canadian cartoonist).

Admission to Mount Allison University is subject to certain requirements and the eligibility requirements vary as per the program a student applies to.
- The student should be 18 years of age before taking admission.
- The student must have taken either TOEFL, IELTS, PTE or an equivalent English language proficiency exam.
- The applicant is required to submit their original transcripts (translated, if not in English) from all the academic institutions they have attended.
