About West Coast College of Massage Therapy - Victoria

John Ranney established the West Coast College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT) in Vancouver in 1983. It offers several in-demand massage certification courses.

The Victoria campus of West Coast College of Massage Therapy was opened in 1999 along with its sister campus in New Westminster. It is spread across 13,000 sq feet and caters students all across the globe. The programs are designated by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training. The coursework of all the programs has been designed after analyzing the needs of today’s workplace. The extensive framework instructs students through a carefully balanced educational program that emphasizes both theory and practice.

Services and Facilities

The school's completely equipped workshop with best-in-class machinery supplements the classroom experience with an active learning approach that allows students to learn from their knowledgeable and experienced instructors in a realistic work environment. In addition to this, the campus features custom-built classrooms and practical learning workplaces so that students can get real-world experiences while they are still taking classes. The school also has a busy Public Intern Clinic and a number of In-reach Clinics.

The campus is conveniently located near many amenities including coffee shops, restaurants, and bus routes enabling students with ample chances for study breaks or breaks throughout their workdays helping them stay relaxed and focused. This makes for a convenient setting for learning providing all of the tools needed for students to not only learn how to get certified as a massage therapist but gain confidence in pursuing other creative careers in their future. 


The West Coast College of Massage Therapy provides fully furnished off-campus apartments that are near the campus. The ideal location gives students a safe place to call home while they focus on their studies. In addition to this, students can also go for homestay options. 


WCCMT provides students with a variety of scholarship options. The scholarships offered are Harry Goldstein Memorial Entrance Scholarship - WCCMT  that awards up to five entrance scholarships for every intake. Besides, the Cory Mintz Scholarship Fund is also awarded annually to a new student from one of the two WCCMT campuses in BC, Canada.

Admission to West Coast College of Massage Therapy - Victoria is dependent on meeting certain criteria, which vary depending on the program to which a student applies. 

  • Student should be at least 18 years old before taking admission
  • Student should be proficient in English and must have taken IELTS, TOEFL or other equivalent exams
  • Students are required to submit their original transcripts from all the academic institutions they have attended. If the transcripts are not in English, then students need to submit translated copies of the same along with the originals.
