About College of The Rockies - Cranbrook Campus
The College of the Rockies is a community college situated in the Kootenay Rocky Mountains area of Southeastern British Columbia. The college has its main campus in Cranbrook – the Gold Creek Campus. Regional campuses located in Invermere, Kimberly, Golden, Fernie, and Creston offer diverse people and a range of services. A few campuses offer special programs and most provide courses in Adult Basic Education.
It offers certificates, diplomas, degrees and transfer programs. The range of programs at the college varies from environmental studies, criminal and social justice, nursing, general management, and accounting. Continuing education courses are offered at all campuses.
The college offers the most personal student experiences with small classes, individual attention, state-of-the-art technology and amazing support services.
Services and Facilities
Student support services at the College of the Rockies offer counselling and wellness services, sexual violence prevention, peer mentorship, student employment center, financial aids & awards; and tutor and writing support and library to provide learning support. Various events and activities are conducted to give an all-rounded experience.
The campus also has a store, student housing facility, gym, weight room along with safety and security services that allow students to be comfortable while they study.
Work-integrated learning opportunities are also made available to students during their time at the college.
Accommodation
The housing facility of the campus is a few steps’ distance from it. The Purcell House is divided into living units, each of which comes with private bedrooms, kitchen, washroom, and a furnished common living area. Coin-operated laundry machines and vending machines are also part of the living units.
The residences lie on the bordering Cranbrook community college, so the students have access to recreational trails and outdoor activities.
Scholarships
College of Rockies awards thousands of dollars in bursaries and scholarships to students who are either entering the college for the first time, or are currently enrolled in a full-time program.
