Focus College now offers globally renowned, employment-focused training in Business, IT, and Travel and Tourism that is relevant to students.

Kelowna is a city in the province of British Columbia, Canada, located in the south. In the Okanagan Valley, it is on the eastern coast of Okanagan Lake, surrounded by provincial parks, pine forests, wineries, orchards, and mountains. More than 20 vineyards in the area provide wine tours and tastings.

Focus College Kelowna has collaborated with the University of Fraser Valley to establish a pathway that allows successful graduates of the Advanced Certificate in Business to continue their education by transferring to UFV and enrolling in the General Studies Diploma program. Students who complete the General Studies Diploma can apply to UFV's Bachelor of Integrated Studies programme to pursue a four-year degree.

Advanced Diploma in Travel and Tourism

If you’re looking for employment-focused Travel & Tourism program delivered by experienced instructors, with small class sizes and a lot of one-to-one attention, you’ve come to the right place. At Focus College, our Advanced Diploma program can get you set up to build a career in the Travel and Tourism sector or even enrol in a university degree program after graduation.

The Advanced Diploma in Travel and Tourism will provide graduates with a wide variety of competencies. The specific aims of the program are to:

Develop the skills and abilities required to start a career with a range of employers, such as travel agencies; tour operators; airline, coach, rail and sea operations; and providers of ancillary services including car rental, insurance and foreign exchange
Be fully prepared for employment in areas such as customer service and administration in the general field of commerce
Develop student competencies to support their career aspirations
Be prepared for progression to degree courses delivered by partner universities in different countries
Develop skills for independent, life-long learning
Develop and enhance transferable skills for employability and core skills
Develop and enhance transferable skills in planning, organizing, critical and evaluative thinking and will be able to investigate issues and problems relating to travel, tourism, and business in depth

Focus College Kelowna Campus Admission Requirements

Admission to Focus College Kelowna Campus is dependent on meeting certain criteria, which vary depending on the program to which a student applies.

Student should be at least 18 years before taking admission
Student should be proficient in English and must have taken IELTS or other equivalent exams
Students are required to submit their original transcripts from all the academic institutions they have attended. If the academic transcripts are not in English, then students need to submit translated copies of the same along with the originals. Minimum Grade 12 or Equivalent Canadian qualification

The University has one of the biggest and most diverse student populations in the country. This is not only because of the great facilities and infrastructure but also because of the high education standards. Having residential halls, a gym, a cafeteria, a swimming pool and a recreation room, this University has everything a student needs. The staff at this University also take great care of the students. Along with that, the courses offered are of high quality and have a great reputation. The campus is extensive and has a huge number of resources. For instance, there is a library, a computer lab and a language laboratory.

The institute has well-equipped with all the needed laboratories and has well-maintained classrooms. The college has a good environment for students. It consists also of a perfect environment for academics and recreational activities. After class, you may engage in a variety of indoor sports at the university. The gym at the institution is available to all students and free of charge. The institution's best feature is its zero-tolerance anti-ragging stance. Professors are always handed to aid students with any questions they may have. The academics are case studies based and hence it helps the students to get practical know-how.

My college experience has been quite pleasant, because of my caring classmates and supportive lecturers. Every teacher and class has provided me with the opportunity to push myself while also learning from others. The rooms are stunning and quite roomy. The administrative staff is quite helpful. Everyone on campus is safe. The menus feature a choice of healthy and fresh eating options. Students can participate in fitness and sports programmes at the institution while being safe and healthy. The College assists students in managing their study costs by awarding bursaries and scholarships based on their financial need.
