Great Plains College, formerly known as Cypress Hills Regional College, is a post-secondary regional college located in the western section of Saskatchewan's province. It was founded in 1973 as Cypress Hills Regional College. Great Plains College was formed in 2008 when Cypress Hills College and Prairie West College merged. Swift Current, Kindersley, and Warman are all Great Plains College campuses, with academic concentrations in Biggar, Maple Creek, and Rosetown.

At campuses across western Saskatchewan, Great Plains College offers post-secondary certificate, diploma, degree, and graduate degree programs, as well as university, adult basic education, skills and safety training, and English language training. By challenging everyone to actively build a responsive, innovative, and results-oriented institution, the college aspires to meet the different needs of the wider coverage. Great Plains College was the very first regional college in Saskatchewan to provide students with a health and dental plan, as well as offers one of the most extensive scholarship opportunities in Canada.

Kindersley is a prospering and vibrant community in west-central Saskatchewan, surrounded by fertile agricultural land and a prosperous oil and gas industry. Kindersley combines the calmness of a rural lifestyle with all of the facilities and benefits of a small city, including a new indoor aquatic centre, a movie theatre, a junior hockey team, a bright arts community, and a diverse selection of stores ranging from small boutiques and specialty stores to major outlets.

Great Plains College is one of Saskatchewan's most creative regional colleges. The college is dedicated to serving the needs of western Saskatchewan's students, employers, and communities. The college is trying to make leaders, careers, relationships, and communities stronger.

At Kindersley Campus, Great Plains College is pleased to offer international students the opportunity to pursue a high-quality education. The program offerings for students include certificate and diploma options and are recognized as a Designated Learning Institution by the Ministry of Advanced Education in the Province of Saskatchewan. With small class sizes, friendly, experienced staff, and access to support, the college delivers a safe, engaging, and welcoming learning environment.


On the Great Plains College campus, there are no student residences. Students will be responsible for making their own accommodation arrangements. Close to the college, students may find rooms for rent, studio apartments, flats, and other forms of off-campus accommodation. The Homestay option matches the student with a family who will assist them in adjusting to the new city by providing guidance and directions.

Admission to Great Plains College - Kindersley Campus is dependent on meeting certain criteria, which vary depending on the program to which a student applies.

  • Student should be at least 18 years before taking admission
  •  Student should be proficient in English and must have taken IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo or other equivalent exams
  • Students are required to submit their original transcripts from all the academic institutions they have attended. If the transcripts are not in English, then students need to submit translated copies of the same along with the originals.
