About Lakehead University - Thunder Bay Campus
Lakehead University is a dynamic and student-centric public research university located on the north shore of Lake Superior, Thunder Bay. It is a public research university that grew out of the Lakehead College of Arts, Science, and Technology and the Lakehead Technical Institute. Founded by an Order-in-Council of the Province of Ontario, it was established on July 1, 1965.
Lakehead University offers a range of undergraduate and graduate and doctoral programs in Education, Business Administration, Engineering, Health and Behavioural Sciences, Medicine and Graduate Studies, Science and Environmental Studies, Natural Resources Management, and Science and Humanities. Among all the departments, the Department of Social Science and Humanities is the largest and serves almost 30% of students taking admission in the undergraduate programs.
Lakehead University offers education through its campus that work together to offer various programs to students. Thunder-bay Campus is the main campus of Lakehead University, located in southwest Ontario. It serves more than 7000 students and offers a diverse choice of professional courses such as Forestry, Nursing, Business, Kinesiology, Social Work, Medicine, and Law. Further, the Orillia Campus, which has approximately 1,500 students, offers unique and unusual interdisciplinary degrees that integrate Arts and Science, Business, Social Work, and Education.

Accommodation
In order to facilitate the stay of students, the University also provides both on-campus and off-campus accommodations at affordable prices. Students are provided with furnished bedrooms with essential utilities like electricity, water supply, internet access, and more. The Thunder Bay residence has a capacity to accommodate around 1,100 beds with three cafeterias and a dining hall. Students also get an option to choose different meal plans.

Lakehead University has a family of 45,000 alumni who have made a name for themselves and achieved recognition through their work and accomplishments. Lakehead University Thunder Bay Campus has some country-specific requirements for international students, which vary as per the program a student opts for. However there are some requirements that every student needs to fulfil:
- Student must be 18 years or older at the time of applying.
- Student coming from non-English speaking countries must have taken either IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or other equivalent exams.
- The university requires original transcripts from all the academic institutions (if the original transcripts are not in English, students need to submit the translated copies of the same along with the original documents).
