About Mohawk College - Institute for Applied Health Sciences at McMaster (IH) Campus

Founded in 1966, Mohawk College is a member of the Association of Community Colleges of Canada (ACCC). It is fully accredited and funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. It has four campuses spread across Hamilton, including Fennell Campus (Hamilton Mountain), Stoney Creek Campus, the Institute for Applied Health Sciences, and City School. Besides, the Marshall School of Skilled Trades & Apprenticeship is located on Mohawk's Stoney Creek Campus and it is popularly known for skilled trades.

Located on the grounds of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, the Institute for Applied Health Sciences at McMaster University creates outstanding health care professionals. It is home to six hospitals and a health centre that requires a vast number of doctors, nurses and other practitioners in Hamilton. Here, students are trained in a wide range of facilities including state-of-the-art laboratories alongside well-equipped physical and digital learning spaces. Field placement opportunities enhance students’ learning experience through hands-on practising opportunities at hospitals throughout Ontario.

Services and Facilities 

The institution offers state-of-the-art facilities, including research spaces, labs, and training equipment. Customized spaces on campus are provided which enable industry partners and employers to collaborate with students and faculty and develop some real solutions to pressing industry needs. 


The institution provides on-campus facilities for students. Those who want to live independently can live at student residences and benefit from communal living. Apart from this two-bedroom suites with basic cable TV and Wi-Fi are located on the Fennell Campus. 


Mohawk College annually offers millions of dollars in aid, helping students cover substantial portions of the cost of studying there. Mohawk College awards thousands of dollars in bursaries and scholarships each year to its students, which reduces their financial burden while also acknowledging their good work.

Admission to Mohawk College - Institute for Applied Health Sciences at McMaster (IH) Campus is subject to certain requirements and the eligibility requirements vary as per the program a student applies to. However, there are certain requirements that every student must keep in mind before applying to the college:

  • Student should be proficient in English and must have taken IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or other equivalent exams
