About Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa Culinary Arts Institute

The only Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Institute in North America is situated in Ottawa. Established in 1895, it receives students from over 100 nationalities. Le Cordon Bleu is a renowned network of culinary education institutes offering a range of diploma/certificate and bachelor’s programs in the field of cuisine and hospitality. 

Through its international faculty of Le Cordon Bleu institutes, the Master Chefs and industry professionals use distinctive teaching methodology for students to gain hands-on learning experience. LE Cordon Bleu is considered the custodian of French culinary techniques that it preserves and passes on through its programs and lets students share a passion for pastry and cuisine.

Services and Facilities

The faculty at the institute includes over 80 Le Cordon Bleu chefs from the finest kitchens and Michelin-starred restaurants along with professors, international personalities, and specialists in tourism and hospitality. 

Hours of hands-on learning in kitchens take place as a part of all courses. Students get strong opportunities to work with leading restaurants and as journalists, authors, instructors, consultants, or entrepreneurs.

Students can be assisted by the institute to find the following kind of accommodations in the city.

Housing – Apartments can be leased or shared houses or apartments can be rented in close proximity to the college. A list of housing options is provided to all international students for their reference.

Homestay – Students can find homestay options in Ottawa if living with a family suits them. It is a semi-formal setting where students can enjoy social and cultural gatherings with their hosts.

Scholarships

Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa in association with Postmedia and Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants, provides the Annual Passion for Excellence Scholarship Award. This scholarship is a  once in a lifetime opportunity for students  to gain recognition for their culinary talent. The winners of this scholarship are awarded a fully funded placement within the coveted Diplôme de Cuisine program at Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa Culinary Arts Institute.

Admissions

  • The student should be 18 years of age before taking admission.
  • The student must have taken either TOEFL, IELTS, PTE or an equivalent English language proficiency exam.
  • The student is required to submit their original transcripts from all the academic institutions they have attended. (If the transcripts are not in English, translated copies must be submitted along with original ones.)
