About Ontario Tech University

Established in 2002, Ontario Tech University is situated in the province of Ontario. The institution has affiliations to the Canadian Association of Research Libraries, the Canadian Bureau for International Education, the International Association of Universities and Universities Canada. It is also associated with Ontario University Athletics as well as the Council of Ontario Universities. 

Ontario Tech's main campus is spread across 400 acres in the northern part of Ontario Tech city. This is also known as the North Campus, while another branch campus in the centre of the city is referred to as the Downtown Campus. The main campus has a large number of buildings that house high-tech learning facilities, along with residences, parking areas and recreation spaces for students. Additionally, computer labs are available with over 80 specialised laboratories available for teaching and research purposes at no extra cost to teachers and students. It offers educational and professional programs in health sciences, information technology, science, education, business, humanities, and social sciences. Further, it offers a range of online programs to facilitate flexible education for working professionals.

Services and Facilities

One of the major attractions of the campus is its library which houses a collection of research books, databases, guides, journals, and other sources that can be accessed by students and faculty members. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants available on campus that serve delicious and hygienic food to the students. The campus houses the ice centre, gym and Fieldhouse for various indoor athletic activities. Additionally, a range of facilities like a bookstore, childcare centre, health centre, and IT services are available at the campus.


The university provides on-campus housing facilities to both boys and girls in its two on-campus residence halls managed by CLC Housing which are equipped with modern amenities such as CCTV cameras entry & exit monitoring system, a cyber café, ATM machines, 24*7 security systems etc.


Students could be awarded a scholarship from the university based on academic achievement as well as personal excellence.

Ontario Tech’s Alumni Association has around 18000+ members from different walks of life. Among these members, many have become very successful entrepreneurs, IT professionals, lawyers, journalists and also leaders in mainstream organisations. Some of them also occupy high levels of management within their respective companies who have served as references for other students.

Admission to Ontario Tech University is subject to certain requirements and the eligibility requirements vary as per the program a student applies to. However, there are certain requirements that every student must keep in mind before applying to the college:

  • Student should be at least 18 years old before taking admission
  • Student should be proficient in English and must have taken IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or other equivalent exams
  • Students are required to submit their original transcripts from all the academic institutions they have attended.
