This course follows a similar path to our geography degree, but after the First Year focuses more on the processes and landforms of the natural environment whilst also looking at human impacts on these. Fieldwork learning, and practical application are at the heart of this course, and you'll develop skills using our own field station, specialist laboratories and geographical information analysis facilities. You will go on two fully-funded field trips in the UK and Switzerland to learn more about the challenges of living in mountainous environments and climate change. Specialist modules include earth surface processes and landforms, quaternary environmental change, glaciology, and natural hazards and disaster reduction. Areas of optional study include conservation and food supplies, environmental problem solving, leisure and tourism, and digital information and location intelligence. Depending on how your interests evolve, you'll have a chance to switch between the different geography courses.

Like the BEng, this course includes many of the modules featured on our general aerospace engineering course, as well as special modules on the design of space vehicles, rocket propulsion, space flight control and satellite communication systems. However, in your MEng year you’ll deepen your skills and knowledge, taking extra modules in aerospace embedded systems, computational fluid dynamics and human resource management. As with the BEng, you’ll have the chance to join with other aerospace students to design a complete aircraft. You’ll also work with astrophysicists to design a space vehicle in conjunction with a major space industry employer.

In order to handle, make sense of, and exploit large volumes of available data requires highly skilled human insight, analysis and visualisation. As with the BEng, this course focuses on vehicle design, taking into account performance, consumer demand, safety and sustainability. It follows the same structure as the BEng, but includes an extra year where you’ll deepen your understanding of the automotive industry. This course is also accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

• You will have use of our Automotive Centre with advanced engine test cells and a vehicle ride simulator for the testing of car suspension systems
• You will gain a practical education based around several specialist laboratories including an aerodynamics laboratory with five wind tunnels of varying speeds.
• This MEng degree course in Automotive Engineering will give you the opportunity to design, build and race single-seater race car in the UK Formula Student Competition and can get involved from your first year onwards, if you wish.

These themes are explored through modules in Business Analytics, Computer Simulation, Creative Problem Solving, Consultancy Skills and Business Statistics. The MSc in Computer Networks and Systems Security considers current research and practice in computer networks and systems security. You will develop technical expertise and practical skills in the design, management and evaluation of networks, and in the use of tools and techniques for systems security. This MSc can lead to a career such as a network system designer or administrator, or as a security consultant.

As a mental health nurse you will work in partnership with individuals experiencing mental health difficulties from a wide range of backgrounds and age-groups.
