The Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Honours) is a four-year full-time degree.

  • Work experience is an essential part of this degree. You’ll complete up to 90 days of work experience consisting of a minimum of 40 days of supervised work in a landscape industry role and 40 days in a design office. There are international options available too.

This four-year degree combines advanced coursework with an honours-level research project. You’ll also choose a major to specialise in a particular subject area.

Applied Mathematics
Understand and predict real-world problems and improve their outcomes. Mathematical methods and models are employed to find solutions not only for technical and industrial problems, but also for social, biomedical and economic problems.

Pure Mathematics
Study the foundation of all mathematics. This major is concerned with discovering the patterns and structures that underlie wide areas of mathematics. Advanced Statistics

• Your honours year is an integral part of the degree. It involves a supervised research project and advanced coursework. You’ll conduct original scientific investigations and analysis while developing your critical and integrative thinking.

• You can choose from a wide range of electives to tailor your study to your interests. This degree is designed to be flexible enough to combine with a second degree from the Faculties of Arts, Design and Architecture (ADA), Engineering, Law or Business.
• Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities
• At UNSW Science, we focus on delivering the optimal balance of theory and practical work to equip you with the skills and experience to fast-track your career. The SCIF3199 Science Work Placement course gives you the opportunity to gain practical work experience through an internship. Previous work placement students have interned with IT companies, start-ups, government departments and large biomedical and biotechnology companies. Along with new professional skills and connections, you’ll also gain course credit for your work placement.
• Research internship course
• The SCIF2041 Research Internship course gives you the opportunity to complete a short theoretical or experimental research project in a world-leading research team supervised by a member of academic staff. Internships may also involve a placement outside of UNSW, in the form of externally funded research programs.

Public Relations (Major)
Choosing to specialise in public relations & advertising for your Bachelor of Media at UNSW will provide you with practical skills, knowledge and experience you need for a career in these exciting and dynamic promotional industries. Selecting from a focused set of courses, you will gain practical experience and a critical perspective on advertising, public relations, and communication.

You’ll learn to think critically about public relations and advertising. Explore the effect that drugs have on living tissues and the normal body functions of humans. This major looks at the efficacy of drugs, the ability of the body to metabolise them and the toxicology/side effects of drugs. The Master of Global Health/Master of Public Health (Extension) is an innovative approach to postgraduate health education, enabling you to specialise in public health in international developing country contexts as well as Australia and other developed countries. This program meets a well-recognised need to strengthen public health capacities within Australia and internationally.

The Master of Global Health is a sought-after qualification in international health. The Master of Public Health (Extension) will provide an opportunity to extend your studies by completing additional courses and a research project in public health. Studying this combination of degrees will cultivate sophisticated knowledge and skills in public health that you can apply to a broad range of highly complex population health issues in local and global settings.

Computer Science is the study of the design, construction and use of computer systems. As a computer scientist you’ll use and create technology to solve problems and improve interactions between people and computers.

The Computer Science component emphasises comprehension of the basic principles behind computing tools, operating systems, compilers and translators, and computer hardware. You’ll study the representation of data and data structures and the design of algorithms, as well as the creation of hardware and software tools and the role of non-computing elements in the design and development process.

The Master of Reproductive Medicine has a proven track record in providing exceptional postgraduate level education across all subjects related to the study of reproductive medicine. As the uptake of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) around the world continues to increase, with over 12 million births and over 25 million cycles of IVF having now been completed, the applicability of this course to clinical and allied practice is obvious.

There is a growing number of practitioners who are specialising in this area. As a specialist in reproductive health, you’ll have the opportunity to explore careers as a GP, a family planning practitioner or a specialist gynaecologist working in menopause and infertility. You can also specialise in nursing and counselling or as a biological scientist.  

Complications with HIV/STIs, infertility and unplanned pregnancy are consistent health issues that require addressing through new reproductive technologies and specialised professionals. This degree will give you a better understanding of the challenges and issues surrounding sexual and reproductive health around the world.
