The UNSW Master of Development Studies is a two-year, full-time interactive degree that provides specialist studies in international development at the local, national and global level. This degree takes a participatory approach to the philosophy of human rights, social justice and community development.

You’ll learn the framework to understand the complexities of the geopolitical, economic, social, ethical, and cultural contexts in which development takes place. Economists focus on the roles of  incentives, resource constraints, laws, customs, and institutions. International Law
International law occupies an ever-growing role in our lives, whether it is about big issues like refugee protection or small issues like online shopping. This specialisation will provide you with a strong theoretical and practical understanding of the international legal system, the workings of international politics and their effect on each other. You'll acquire an advanced level of knowledge and analytical ability about the issues, problems and conduct of international law. 

This Master of Laws specialisation draws on the excellence offered by UNSW Law & Justice, where our academic staff (not to mention visiting lecturers and guest presenters) provide top-level teaching and guidance. Our academic staff often advise governments, the United Nations and other international organisations on a range of legal issues. At UNSW, you will have your classes with leaders in the field in both academia and the reality of international law.

This degree is designed for students who are passionate about both the Law and Computer Science, and are interested in learning about the connection between the two.

The Law degree aims to develop graduates who have excellent analytical skills, a capacity for scholarly research, effective oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to personal and professional development, ethical practice and social responsibility. The Bachelor of Aviation (Management) addresses these issues to produce graduates with essential skills and knowledge in the fields of science, engineering, interpersonal relations, the environment and management. This skill base provides a solid foundation upon which you can expect to advance to positions of management and influence within the aviation industry.

Students are exposed to current aviation topics and often work in teams to solve contemporary air transport problems. Learning exercises range from operating a start-up airline in a management simulation to exploring the cognitive abilities of humans in the fast-developing environment of aviation.

Graduates of the management degree have a broad education that provides a solid base for pursuing a career in aviation. Computational Design (Major)

When you study Computational Design at UNSW, you’ll learn to approach challenges differently through design-thinking. You’ll gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies, including 3D modelling, digital geometry and parametric design, responsive environments, AR and VR, and robotic and digital fabrication using 3D printers and laser cutters.

Through design thinking and computational design theory, you’ll hone critical-thinking and communication skills to create inclusive designs for diverse contexts. As part of our supportive Arts, Design & Architecture community, you’ll be encouraged to collaborate across disciplines, gain professional experience, and take advantage of programs that support entrepreneurship and innovation. You’ll have the opportunity to work on real-life projects set by UNSW’s partners in the built-environment, architecture and design industries such as Cox, Arup, Hassell, BVN, Bates Smart, PTW Architects, Grimshaw, Mott McDonald, and Aurecon.

The Master of Health Leadership and Management (Extension)/Master of Infectious Diseases Intelligence degree enables you to specialise in both infectious disease intelligence and health management and develop research skills and apply them while undertaking a scholarly project.

You will be provided with advanced disciplinary knowledge and skills to undertake infectious diseases prevention and control, and health services management roles in government, community and health service settings in Australia and internationally. The degree will equip you with the specialised skills and leadership needed for professional practice in control of infectious diseases and for research and evidence based professional practice.

The program fosters judgment-ready practitioners who can contribute to improving population health and work across a range of contexts including ministries and departments of health, government and non-government and voluntary organisations, primary care and community healthcare services in both public and private sectors.
