The UNSW Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education (Secondary) is a four-year, full-time (or part-time equivalent) double degree that provides you with the skills to pursue a career in secondary-school teaching, specialising in science and mathematics. After completing the degree, you’ll have a professional teaching qualification as well as a flagship science degree from our science faculty, UNSW Science.

You’ll learn how science is taught and gain an understanding of STEM subject areas such as environmental science, physics or mathematics. The UNSW Bachelor of Education (Secondary) is a recognised qualification in initial teacher education. You'll graduate qualified to embark on a career as a secondary school teacher in both government and non-government secondary schools throughout Australia and overseas.

This innovative degree extends the Civil Engineering Bachelor degree by including courses in Architecture from the School of Built Environment. Civil engineers create and manage the infrastructure of our built environment, including bridges, roads and highways, tunnels, dams, ports and harbours, railways, water supply and sewerage schemes, irrigation systems and many other structures.

The degree will lead to a professionally accredited Engineering qualification with a foundation in architectural principles and an understanding of both the architect's role in structural design and the connection between architects and engineers. It aims to inspire students to become conceptual thinkers with an appreciation for architectural beauty and the mathematical insight to challenge traditional boundaries of structural design.

After completing this degree, you will have a professional teaching qualification as well as an economics degree from the UNSW Business School. Students will gain analytical skills with broad application in business, finance and policy.

Along with the theoretical aspects of education, we place great importance on practical experience. In your final two years, you will develop skills in classroom competence and spend up to 80 days in supervised teaching in at least two secondary-school contexts.

This degree is accredited by NSW Education Standards Authority as an initial teaching qualification for both government and non-government secondary schools throughout Australia and is widely accepted as a teaching qualification internationally.

In just four years and one term, you'll gain both a Bachelor of Applied Exercise Science and a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology. This combined degree explores the science of human performance and how exercise is used as a rehabilitative and preventative therapy, equipping you to care for both healthy patients and those with chronic disease across two areas of practice.

Exercise scientists specialise in the prescription and delivery of exercise to enhance general health and improve athletic performance. Exercise scientists draw on a broad array of knowledge from subdisciplines such as biomechanics, motor control and exercise prescription to develop and deliver exercise initiatives to improve individual and community health. 

Exercise physiologists expand on the exercise science skillset by using exercise as a rehabilitative and preventative therapy to manage a wide range of chronic diseases including cancers, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, metabolic, respiratory, neurological and mental health conditions. 
This degree will prepare you to meet the accreditation requirements to work as an exercise scientist and/or exercise physiologist.
