The aerospace industry is increasingly in need of Systems Engineers with the skills to integrate modern communication systems with conventional aerospace systems to enhance aircraft performance.  This variation to our Aerospace Systems Engineering degree can be the first step for those wishing to become professional pilots.  It combines the multidisciplinary nature of the Aerospace Systems Engineering degree with pilot studies to a National Private Pilot’s Licence level and beyond. 

The compulsory flying experience is mainly in the Fourth Year, provided locally by a nationally recognised flight centre either in the UK or the USA. There are additional fees for this, but with an attractively discounted rate compared to other flight centres. There are also opportunities to do some flying in the First and Second Years as an extracurricular activity, including use of various flight simulators.

This dynamic course gives you the sound knowledgeable and placement experiences to become a skilled, contemporary Physiotherapist. Covering anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, Physiotherapy practice and electrotherapy, the course hones your skills and provides opportunities for you to work with other healthcare professionals. You will carry out a two-week practice placement in Semester A and a four-week placement at the end of the first year in Semester C.  During the second year there are two, five-week practice placements and in the final year you will carry out three, five-week practice placements By adding an additional short course to your degree, you can gain level 2 and 3 qualifications with PD:Approval and gain entry to the Register of Exercise Professionals, boosting your employability.

Two compulsory modules – International Energy Law and International Environmental Law – will give you a firm foundation for your studies. The International Electronic Communications Law module explores the existing legal framework around the electronic communications sector in the UK and Europe. In the Emerging Technologies and Law module you will study a range of internet and emerging technologies law and policy principles. You will also consider consumer protection online and the rules relating to digital marketing, distance selling and e-payment, as well as the legal requirements for online company presence and advertising. With a 30-year record of producing skilled engineers for all branches of the automotive industry, Hertfordshire’s a great choice if you want to work in this cutting-edge sector. How? As with the BEng, this course focuses on vehicle design, taking into account performance, consumer demand, safety and sustainability. It follows the same structure as the BEng, but includes an extra year where you’ll deepen your understanding of the automotive industry. This course is also accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

• You will have use of our Automotive Centre with advanced engine test cells and a vehicle ride simulator for the testing of car suspension systems
• You will gain a practical education based around several specialist laboratories including an aerodynamics laboratory with five wind tunnels of varying speeds.
• This MEng degree course in Automotive Engineering will give you the opportunity to design, build and race single-seater race car in the UK Formula Student Competition and can get involved from your first year onwards, if you wish.
