The Major in Interior Architecture and Design exemplifies the definition of the professional designer as qualified by education, experience, and examination to design interior environments that enhance the function and quality of life, increase productivity, and protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public. Academic preparation is grounded in research-based problem solving and experiential education through studio instruction, service learning, and internships that encompass a variety of cultural, environmental, and historical perspectives. The program has a longstanding accreditation by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA), recognizing the highest academic standards established by the profession.

Students seeking to apply to the Interior Architecture and Design major at CSU first are admitted to CSU as Pre-Interior Architecture and Design. All students who wish to be considered for admission to Interior Architecture and Design (IAD) major will be required to complete the Interior Architecture and Design Scenario practicum. Selective advancement into the major is based on the review received at the IAD Scenario, where external reviewers will assess student competencies in writing for design, sketching, problem-solving, and conceptual frameworks. A cohort of approximately 50-60 students advances based on performance on the IAD Design Scenario. The IAD Design Scenario occurs annually in the spring semester. The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures offers an M.A. degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures with a specialization in Spanish.

Our M.S. program offers a range of opportunities in health-focused coursework that allows you to experience science-based, rigorous research first hand. Our graduate students are encouraged to seek out a lab that reflects their interests, where they can participate in hands on research in many disciplines of study, including health span, prevention and treatment of metabolic disorders, researching neuromuscular disease and disability, investigating cancer recurrence and engaging with the physical and mental health of active duty military and first responders. The master’s in design and merchandising with a specialization in interior design has a focus on creativity, sustainability, and health and wellness. You will have the opportunity to research and learn about commercial design, cultural/global design, healthcare facilities design, and universal design all while focusing on person-environment relationships and a sense of place. The program is suitable both for designers and architects who want to teach or become research practitioners, as well as those who want to advance their undergraduate degree as a practitioner in the field.

The Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology offers superior research programs with multi-disciplinary approaches and is home to some of the finest biomedical researchers in the nation, working in highly specialized laboratories. With a degree in counseling and career development, you’ll be equipped for a career as a professional counselor to people of all ages. Develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies to become an ethical and culturally responsive counselor who can enhance and advocate for the mental health, wellbeing, and life quality of all people.

You’ll complete a 60-credit course of study that includes core counseling curriculum (48 credit), a clinical practicum (100 hours), an internship (600 hours), and specialization-specific courses and electives.

This degree and all three specializations are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs. Upon graduation, you’ll be professional counseling licensure-eligible in the state of Colorado and eligible to become a National Certified Counselor.

This interdisciplinary program examines the cultural and social construction of gender, explores the history, experiences, and contributions of women to society, and studies the influences of gender on the lives of women and men. Looking at the world through this lens allows us to more directly and effectively address issues of social justice and social change. By studying gender relations, students learn skills that work toward dismantling gender-based inequality and promote gender equity in various arenas of social life.
