As part of this course, you’ll:

• Study some of the principles and technologies that are dominant within the ‘fourth industrial revolution’

While Computer Science traditionally contains a lot of theory, our approach is very applied, and you’ll be encouraged to think about problem solving in an industrial context.

Drawing on expertise from within the School of Built Environment, Engineering & Computing, you’ll be directed and motivated to work on advanced concepts in computer science, including for your dissertation.

As part of this course, you’ll:  

• Complete an extra year of specialist study to achieve a masters qualification
• Combine expertise in two fields of national importance
• Analyse digital devices, such as hard drives, in computer forensics modules to identify and investigate their contents
• Learn to use your knowledge of computer systems and networks to protect businesses and users from malicious attacks in computer security modules
• Learn practical investigative and 'hacking' techniques
• Learn through practical applications on our bespoke Hacktivity system that replicates real-world business systems and potential attacks 

Your fourth year of study will enable you to develop expertise in the more challenging areas of digital forensics such as image and video forensic investigations. In security areas, you’ll study in-depth software security exploitation development and the analysis and implementation of security mechanisms to defend and analyse systems. Your final year will also develop your knowledge in research practices through a research or practical dissertation project.

If you join the university’s Ethical Hacking Society, you’ll explore the very latest developments in digital security and attend talks from industry experts to enhance your learning.

Immerse yourself in the science of sport to help develop the high-performance athletes of today and tomorrow. Your studies will allow you to develop the essential knowledge and skills required to pursue a career in sport performance.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Develop expertise in the interdisciplinary sciences of sport performance, drawing on disciplines including biomechanics, nutrition, physiology and psychology
• Advance practical and research techniques and have the confidence to use performance-measuring equipment and technologies to evaluate athletes at all stages of their development
• Study performance approaches within individual and team contexts and learn to apply these models to virtually any sport
• Engage in work-related learning and practical placements in multiple sport settings

This course is one of the few undergraduate programmes in the UK that focuses on using multi and interdisciplinary science to augment performance in a range of client groups.

As part of our Cybercrime and Security Innovation Centre, teaching staff on your course work with West Yorkshire Police to develop new ways of fighting cybercrime. Taught at one of the largest providers of sport in UK higher education – this course will give you an in-depth understanding of the physiological and metabolic effects of exercise and training. You’ll develop the practical skills required to meet the specific needs of the client, be it optimal performance or improved health.
