This honours degree is for those who have a strong interest in mechanical engineering and a clear desire to develop their knowledge and skills in automotive engineering. It has been designed for the automotive industry (regional and national) in response to the shortfall of mechanical engineers.

Automotive engineering is a growing sector, many reports show that up to 28,000 new jobs will have to be fulfilled by 2020. 95% of our graduates are in a professional or managerial job with 6 months after the course (Unistats 16)

The course explores fully the engineering, design, analysis and development of modern cars using various race cars as support for teaching. It also puts emphasis on learning transferable skills, which are applicable to many other industries.

From studying the Foundation Year, learners will be able to develop with knowledge, understanding and skills of Engineering-based disciplines and their applications which help learners prepare for further years of study and success in engineering degree.

Aircraft aerodynamics and flying and handling performances are always the most important and challenging aspects for aircraft designs, particularly with the consideration of advanced materials and advanced aircraft technologies.

At Wrexham Glyndwr University, the MSc Engineering (Aeronautical) will enable candidates to develop a deep understanding and solid skills in aerodynamics and aerodynamic design of aircraft, grasp detailed knowledge and application principles of composite materials and alloys, critically review and assess the application and practice of advanced materials in modern aircraft, model and critically analyse aircraft flight dynamic behaviour and apply modern control approaches for control-configured aircraft.

Candidates will have access to state-of-art Merlin flight simulator for design and testing their own aircraft, will learn and use cutting-edge design, analysis and simulation software: MATLAB/Simulink, CATIA v5, ANSYS, and ABAQUS, and will have access to subsonic and supersonic wind tunnel facilities and rapid prototyping facilities. Glynd?r University is located nearby to one of the largest aircraft company in the world, Airbus and also has close links with aviation industries, such as Rolls-Royce, Raytheon, Magellan, and Airbus.‌

Leading to a professional qualification in Social Work, Wrexham Glyndwr’s BA(Hons) Social Work course has been developed in close co-operation with social work partner agencies in the statutory and voluntary sectors, and in conjunction with individuals who are experts through experience.

The Football Coaching and the Performance Specialist degree is an innovative programme which integrates football coaching awards into an academic course to help you gain employment in the football industry.
The degree is designed in partnership with the Football Association of Wales (FAW), expanding your football-specific knowledge and its application to the football environment. 

Students will

• be prepared to work as a coach or performance specialist (Physiologist, Psychologist, Performance Analyst or Development Officer) in the world of football
• develop practical coaching skills in addition to developing an understanding of the application of sports science (physiology, psychology, performance analysis) and the social context of the sport of football
