The foundation year programme is designed to gradually build the required mathematical skills and science and engineering knowledge for you to progress into your level-4 study. It is designed specifically for the candidates who do not have enough/required UCAS tariff points for their direct level-4 entry or strong enough science and engineering background or would like to build a more solid foundation for your degree studies.

With the Foundation Year giving you a solid introduction to university and the Built Environment, our Architectural Design Technology degree explores how design and technology work together, giving you practical working knowledge of both areas.

The course is fully accredited by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) and you will be eligible for Associate Membership (ACIAT) on graduation. You can progress to full Chartered status with appropriate experience, and being a Chartered Architectural Technologists will give you all the same powers as an Architect but in considerably less time.

This course is also available to study as a three-year programme without a foundation year BSc (Hons) Architectural Design Technology

This degree has been designed to provide a detailed knowledge of numerous scientific disciplines and how they can be applied to investigate a wide range of crimes. The programme has been tailored to train students to become competent and skilled scientists, able to conduct analysis of materials, interpret complex results, and present their evidence as expert witnesses.

With a strong practical focus, this course will train students in a wide variety of fields, including crime scene investigation, biology and chemistry. You will use our dedicated laboratories, crime scene house, and taphonomic facility (body farm) to test and hone your scientific skills. Our long-term collaborations with regional stakeholders, including North Wales Police, external companies offering specialist in areas such as search dog training and the analysis of human remains, and several analytical companies provide students with opportunities to perform frontier research and publish papers.

To meet the 2050 carbon reduction targets to control climate change, member states of the EU have signed legally binding targets to transition from traditional fossil fuel energy sources to renewable and sustainable energies. This MSc programme offers a graduate a chance to access this exciting, dynamic and highly innovative field.
