Applied Financial Economics
Saint Louis University's Master of Science in Applied Financial Economics (M.S.-AFE) at the Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business is a one-of-a-kind program in the region that responds to the market need for individuals to enter the labor market with a set of applied technical skills.

In addition to the Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, a master's degree with a concentration in Catholic education is offered. The Catholic education concentration is designed to prepare students for school-level leadership positions, most commonly principalship in Catholic elementary, middle and high schools, as well as teacher leadership. Coursework engages students with the unique aspects of Catholic educational leadership, including spiritual leadership and the vocation of a Catholic school leader and non-public school administration such as funding mechanisms and applicable laws, while preparing students to take the Missouri assessments for principal certi?cation.

The degree requires a completion of 32 credits of coursework and culmination examinations. The Catholic education concentration requires completion of 33 credits of coursework. An additional three-credit internship is required for Catholic education students wishing to pursue Missouri Principal Certification.

Anthropology

The study of anthropology requires a holistic approach; it is comprehensive, inclusive and integrates information from many different areas of study through ethnographic, biological, cross-cultural, archaeological and sociological inquiries.

Emergency Management
Saint Louis University's Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management is the only undergraduate emergency management program offered at a Jesuit university in the United States. Through SLU's School for Professional Studies, you will learn to administer aid and assistance to others, helping to ensure the resilience of your community in the face of disasters large and small. This comprehensive, multi-disciplinary program focuses on all sectors recognized by the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), providing students with essential skills for careers in the emergency management sector.

Sociology is the scientific study of human groups and their characteristics, changes, causes and consequences. Through teaching, research and service, sociology reveals a critical understanding of the different ways people relate to one another through the organization of society and how its structures and cultures influence lives.

Mathematics
Saint Louis University’s mathematics program combines the features of both small and large schools to create a compelling educational experience.

Students can expect a student-friendly environment, with math courses for majors being small in size and taught by regular faculty. Faculty get to know students and provide individual attention. Students are recruited for participation in math contests and other opportunities, including part-time positions as graders, tutors and learning assistants. Like a large school’s program, math at SLU also has enough breadth to let students tailor their upper-division math courses to their interests and goals.

The Master of Arts in Family Therapy at Saint Louis University is based on a systemic/relational view of individuals, couples and families. It fulfills the course and practicum requirements toward licensure in Missouri as a licensed marital and family therapist. A concentration in medical family therapy is also available.

Saint Louis University's Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry is designed for students interested in the applications of chemistry to the life sciences. Students also have the option to study abroad in a French-speaking country during a summer, in an approved program, for up to six transfer credits.
