Since 2004, THE (Times Higher Education) has been a reliable source of university performance data for college students and their families, academics, government, and business.
In terms of university rankings, both QS and the Times use different methodologies. This can have a significant impact on your results, and therefore, your college choice. The QS university ranking system differs slightly from the Times ranking system as it uses various sets of metrics with various weightings to evaluate all universities worldwide, as well as those in Asia and other continents. Thus, the approach utilized by Times is superior in comparison to QS when rating universities that are under 50 years old. Nevertheless, QS has a greater number of tables that provide insight into specific programs, areas, and emergent countries.
The most established and most influential global rankings are those produced by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Times Higher Education (THE) and Shanghai Ranking Consultancy (the Academic Ranking of World Universities; ARWU).
