Pharmaceutical Science
Pharmaceutical Science aims at developing new medicines for the treatment of disease. This major covers topics including the chemistry, biology and technology of medicines and is ideally suited for students who have a strong interest in chemistry, drug action and discovery. You will learn how the chemistry of life determines the biology of cells, tissues and organisms, and explore the drug discovery process from the identification of suitable drug targets to the use of chemistry to isolate, design and apply molecules in the treatment of disease. The Visual Art and Photography major combines in-depth disciplinary training in visual art and photography practices and digital technologies alongside a sequence of open-ended studio-based studies encouraging cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary thinking. Journalism

Get hands-on learning experience and be taught by our expert team of journalism and media practitioners who have extensive experience across all the key media platforms. English - Creative Writing
Gain expertise, practical experience and develop creative skills. In all units, the emphasis is on publication or the achievement of professional standards. Initially, you undertake various forms of constructive, descriptive and narrative writing, progressing to editing, non-fiction and fiction writing, script writing and poetry writing.

Deakin’s Master of Information Technology provides a combination of leading-edge theory and technical knowledge with hands-on practical experience.Delivered in a supportive learning environment, this course will transform you into a competent IT professional with the capacity to develop and implement IT solutions to complex industry-related problems.

Marketing is about relationships with customers and involves developing, maintaining and enhancing those relationships. Modern marketing is about adding value to the customer experience and building a mutually beneficial relationship between buyers and sellers.

More than 7% of total burden of disease in Australia is due to poor diet*. Study Deakin's Bachelor of Nutrition Science and help tackle the challenges facing our society including disease prevention, lifespan nutrition, obesity, the spread of misinformation, and the social and physiological effects of food on our wellbeing. Modelled on commercial laboratories, our food preparation, food analysis and two sensory laboratories give students hands-on real-world laboratory experience preparing you for the workplace.

Gain at least 75 hours of workplace training through industry placement. These experiences ensure you have the practical skills to improve health through food and nutrition – skills that are increasingly in demand as society grapples with nutrition-related diseases and their impact on wellbeing. This course provides a pathway to the Master of Dietetics, which allocates 60% of places to Deakin graduates.

Physical Activity and Health
This major provides students with an understanding of how behaviour influences health, with a particular emphasis on the relationships between physical activity and health.
