RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) (Honours) will equip you with the skills and knowlege to design sustainable processes and products for the benefit of society, environment, and businesses.

In this chemical enginering degree, you’ll cover the application of chemical sciences, physics, and biological sciences and technology, to design and improve industrial processes such as water purification, food production and processing, or develop products such as cosmetics or pharmaceuticals.

You’ll learn how to make processing industries work more efficiently and minimise their environmental impact by using less energy and producing less waste. You’ll also develop the skills to design and develop ways in which raw materials, such as minerals and oil, are converted into useful products including composites, petrol, plastics and paper.

This industry-relevant degree offers work integrated learning opportunities. You’ll have the opportunity to design creative solutions through inspiring and sustainable design-and-build projects, as well as taking part in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge - a humanitarian-focused subject offered in all RMIT engineering degrees.

Develop your research skills and contribute to new developments in nursing and health care delivery.

The School of Health and Biomedical Sciences conducts research in the area of ageing and chronic disease, including:

• Evaluation of interventions for preventing, diagnosing and treating chronic health issues
• Health equity for vulnerable populations
• Mental health, particularly health risk and health-seeking behaviours
• Public health and health services
• You will undertake clinical or experimental research in one of these fields with an individual supervisor overseeing your development and progress.

Research is undertaken in a strongly multi-disciplinary environment that brings clinical and basic researchers together to undertake novel research at the boundaries between disciplines.

In RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Sustainable Systems Engineering) (Honours), you'll learn how to protect, restore and create engineered and natural systems that are socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable.

As part of this systems engineering degree you’ll undertake a broad range of studies, graduating with the skills to design engineering solutions that meet the needs of society within economic and ecological constraints.

Your studies will focus on developing a sustainable systems approach, combining the fundamentals of sustainable systems design, engineering design, engineering mathematics and engineering science. Degree specialisations exist in renewable energy systems, energy efficiency and demand management, transport and logistics, and supply chain analytics.

RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Aerospace Engineering) (Honours) / Bachelor of Business double degree provides you with the capability to play a pivotal role in planning, implementing and managing aerospace projects and developments in a wide range of industries that require high level business skills.

The aerospace engineering degree is concerned with analysing, designing and operating sophisticated aeronautics and astronautics hardware and software systems, while the business degree is concerned with organisational planning, coordination and resource direction.

You will graduate from the aerospace degree with an internationally recognised qualification, enabling you to have a global career as a leader in a wide range of industries and organisations.

With an extensive range of majors and minors to choose from, you can personalise your degree, developing specialist skills in your area of interest. Specialisations include aircraft techologies, spacecraft technolgies, aviation industry, accounting, finance and international business.

Work integrated learning is embedded throughout the degree, providing you with practical experience and employability skills. Hands-on learning experiences include capstone projects, industry placements, and participation in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge.

The Master of Biotechnology focuses on the study of living systems to address challenges in the environment, health or food science.

Students will explore gene and protein technologies, bioinformatics, and various microbiology and food science disciplines, both in the classroom and via a strong component of hands-on laboratory practicals.

This program includes an option to complete one semester of either work experience in the form of an industry placement, or a research project where you’ll complete minor thesis.

All students have the opportunity to analyse real-world data when they undertake a research project.

Osteopaths are trained in diagnosis, management, and treatment of musculoskeletal pain disorders. They combine conventional medical testing procedures and skills of palpation and motion testing to inform their clinical rationale for treating a patient's condition.

You will be trained in musculoskeletal diagnosis, clinical procedures in performing conventional medical tests, physical examination techniques, and motion testing in order to assist in diagnosis of a patient’s condition.

Osteopaths make treatment decisions that depend on the patient as well as their condition. They might give advice on posture, exercise, lifting procedures, nutrition and other areas.

You will begin work-integrated learning in first year, with clinical observations in the RMIT Health Clinic.

In the final two years, you will conduct safe, skilled evaluation, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of musculoskeletal complaints under the supervision of qualified and nationally registered osteopaths, over a period of 38 weeks per year.

There is also an opportunity to complete a work placement in an Australian osteopathic clinic.

You’ll develop skills and knowledge of food processing and preservation; chemical properties of food materials; food safety, packaging and labelling; and food product and process innovation. You will also undertake subjects to support the wide range of technical positions required by the food industry.

If your background is in science, engineering, agriculture or other related disciplines, the Master of Food Science and Technology is designed to provide professional training in this field. If you have previously completed studies in food science and technology, this degree will enhance and expand your knowledge in the area.
