RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Electronic and Computer Systems Engineering) (Honours) / Bachelor of Business will prepare you to become an engineering manager.

You will graduate from this degree ready to move into an engineering management role either relatively early in your career or after a period of experience as a professional engineer, rather than having to undertake further study.

The engineering degree will develop knowledge and skills that will enable you to find better solutions to challenges in the design, construction and maintenance of electronic hardware, embedded systems, firmware development, communication and network systems.

This could include the automation of electrical and electronic systems; audio and visual information acquisition, digital signal processing; human-machine interaction, industrial or medical instrumentation and monitoring; reconfigurable logic development; distributed computing and provision of security for computer systems and networks.

You will also learn to design and build devices and systems that transfer and store information via radio frequency or optical fibre transmissions, and manage and secure the flow of information through such systems.

The Bachelor of Communication (Advertising) has three distinct focuses: art direction, copywriting, and strategy planning/account management. There is a strong focus on critical and conceptual thinking. This degree offers you a creative advertising degree that combines theoretical and industry knowledge with hands-on professional skills including copywriting, art direction and strategy planning. It provides an overview of the role and value of advertising within broader marketing and communication practice, as well as in depth study of advertising media, strategic and creative disciplines. You will experience a variety of interactive learning and teaching approaches, both face to face and online, with a strong emphasis on industry relevance and creative outcomes.

The Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) (Honours) supports and develops your capacity as a practicing artist and active researcher in the field of contemporary art.

This is achieved using statistical software accompanied by an in-depth understanding of the statistical processes involved.

You will be particularly knowledgeable, creative and critical in the sense of how you interpret and analyse data. You will also be equipped with the ability to apply knowledge to solve a wide range of real-world problems.

You’ll be exposed to a wide variety of analytics tools including R, SQL, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Enterprise Miner, Python, Java, CPLEX, Gurobi and Arena.

The program includes an industry project component and/or minor thesis which will develop your consulting and research skills.

Based on your previous studies you may be eligible for exemptions that may shorten your program duration by up to one year full-time.
