In the Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology - Electrical, you'll learn to design, validate, and evaluate electrical equipment and systems, as well as provide technical advice and sales.

Electrical engineers design and maintain electrical systems to improve the production and distribution of energy. As our society increasingly depends on electrical and electronic devices, electrical engineers are in high demand.

In your career as an electrical engineer, you will design and maintain electrical systems in areas like aerospace, power utilities, mining, oil and gas, wind and solar food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, data centres, transport and logistics, and many others.

You’ll gain skills in electrical design, programmable logic controllers, supervisory control and data acquisition systems, industrial data networking, and motor control. Following graduation, you’ll be qualified to work in the electrical industry.

In this advanced diploma course, you’ll gain the practical and technical skills to work with civil engineers on the design and construction of infrastructure projects.

The Advanced Diploma of Engineering (Civil Engineering Design) also provides a pathway to an engineering degree.

Civil and structural engineering involves the design and construction of roads, airports, railways, buildings, bridges, dams and drainage systems.

You’ll develop skills:

• Using computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to produce detailed drawings, plans and designs for construction work
• Doing cost estimates and preparing material specifications
• Liaising with construction workers and project managers
• Inspecting completed works to ensure they meet specifications and regulations
• Conducting laboratory and/or field testing of materials, soil and water quality.

Develop your advanced research skills and contribute to new developments in applied chemistry.

At RMIT, computer and network engineering are taught together to provide graduates with the opportunity to work in their preferred field.

You will learn and implement the fundamental technologies behind computerised, smart and intelligent digital systems used in modern life. The degree allows you to focus your skills on a range of computer systems and network engineering topics ranging from the Internet of Things (IoT) platforms, sensor networks, high-performance parallel processing, real-time embedded hardware control and data communication networks. You will learn the fundamental topics in both computer and network engineering fields and then choose to specialise in either area to ensure that you graduate work-ready.

You'll gain the knowledge and skills to find better solutions to challenges in design, construction and maintenance of software and hardware components of computing and computer-controlled devices, equipment and systems. In computer engineering, you'll learn how to create new opportunities for businesses by driving new technologies and solutions to make businesses more productive and competitive. From designing and developing new microcontroller-based products and systems, to enhancing functionalities of those that currently exist, there are plenty of possibilities in a world of ever-changing market needs and consumer demands.

During network engineering studies you'll learn about the design, implementation and maintenance of digital communication networks. In this degree, network engineering looks at technology, audio and visual communications over wired and wireless networks, network management and software defined networks, optimising network performance and network security.

You'll have the opportunity to design creative solutions through inspiring and sustainable design-and-build projects, as well as taking part in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge - a humanitarian-focused course offered in all RMIT engineering degrees.

To ensure you graduate job-ready, you'll also have an opportunity to undertake a work-integrated learning (industry experience) elective.

With advanced technical expertise and research skills, graduates of the Master of Food Science and Technology are fully-equipped to participate in the rapidly advancing field of food science and technology and apply their expertise in inter-disciplinary contexts.

You’ll develop skills and knowledge of food processing and preservation; chemical properties of food materials; food safety, packaging and labelling; and food product and process innovation. You will also undertake subjects to support the wide range of technical positions required by the food industry.
If your background is in science, engineering, agriculture or other related disciplines, the Master of Food Science and Technology is designed to provide professional training in this field. If you have previously completed studies in food science and technology, this degree will enhance and expand your knowledge in the area.

This in-depth master's degree provides current or aspiring managers with high-level expertise in planning, directing, implementing, and monitoring an organisation's marketing efforts.

Through the Master of Marketing, you will understand the role of marketing and its relationship with other important functional areas in management to get an all-of-business view, and develop appropriate marketing tactics and strategies.

You will learn how to design and undertake marketing management planning, identify and improve your strategic marketing thinking, and develop a breadth of knowledge by exploring a number of key marketing areas, such as marketing management, consumer behaviour, marketing communication and marketing research.

Use your advanced research skills to contribute to new developments in radiotherapy, diagnostic medical procedures and health physics.

This program is assessed by both a research project and the completion of five courses.

The research project is in medical or health physics, and is examined by thesis.

The coursework is vocationally relevant to radiotherapy, diagnostic imaging, radiation protection and health physics, and is available in online mode.

You will complete Research Methods for Sciences in your first semester. Four other courses will be undertaken in subsequent semesters.

The program is accredited by the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) as an approved postgraduate qualification forming a compulsory component of the requirements to become a certified medical physicist.

Research activities are conducted within related research institutes and groups including the Applied Electromagnetics and Radiation Physics Research Group.
