The Master of Interior Design will provide you with an opportunity to position yourself in relation to current interior design practice through collaboration with clients, industry and a network of peers.

With an emphasis on ideas and a design-led approach to research and experimentation, the knowledge and skills you develop in this course will enable you to work in a range of practices, and to engage interior design as an agent of social and cultural change.

Graduates of this course will be highly effective team contributors with strong communication and technical skills. You will learn how to be a valuable contributor through the process of developing a collective response to real industry briefs. You will engage with clients (encompassing commercial, institutional, civic and social organisations) and industry practice partners (interior design and associated design practices) together with the student cohort on live projects and challenges.

With a strong focus on design challenges affecting the broader Australasian region, you will also have opportunities to undertake global intensives to locations within Asia.

This degree will provide you with the foundation research skills that will support your future career as a scientist or researcher.

In consultation with your discipline honours coordinator and your supervisor, you'll be allocated a project to develop your skills to an advanced level.

Your degree will conclude with a final year that is 100% designed by you, maybe you will continue to work for an industry sponsor via our professional apprenticeships, start your own business with the help of RMIT Activator or undertake an applied research task with one of RMIT's Centres for Excellence, or something brand new. We'll let you decide.

The Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) (Honours) supports and develops your capacity as a practicing artist and active researcher in the field of contemporary art.

This degree is designed for students who have successfully completed a three-year degree in contemporary art or craft, or an equivalent field, and who wish to undertake a further year of study to focus exclusively on an individual project.

At this level of study, you will engage with high-level intensive subjects, deepening and enriching your practice through expertise, knowledge and criticality.

You will be guided through personalised mentorship and individual supervision, as you are introduced to practice-led research and research methodologies.

A flexible curriculum provides opportunities for you to develop an individual project and to further your knowledge and capability for professional or highly skilled art practice, and/or further learning at a postgraduate level.

When you study visual arts at RMIT, you'll create a professional folio of work.

This diploma is taught by practicing artists in real studio environments. All our staff are practitioners with national and international reputation in the arts. This enables them to connect you to work on projects with industry, other practicing artists, and galleries.

This diploma offers both practical and theoretical subjects, which have been developed in conjunction with the arts industry. It is designed to prepare you for a career in the visual arts or other related creative fields.

On completion of the first year, you can transition to the Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts. This is also a one-year qualification, which allows you to further investigate your creative practice with a more specialised focus.

A major focus is the production of a professional folio of work that reflects your personal creativity. The folio will display a sequential development, with emphasis on the acquisition of skills and the adaptation of those skills to the production of artworks with a sound personal philosophical base.

This diploma has a strong focus on exhibition practice and providing practical experience in the arts industry. You will undertake independent studio practice and develop a wide-range of highly specialised technical, creative and conceptual skills and knowledge.

A recent McKinsey report forecast that Al will generate $13 trillion in economic activity by 2030. It’s the ideal time to gain expertise in this burgeoning and complex field.

In the Master of Artificial Intelligence, you’ll learn to design and implement systems and applications in high-tech facilities, such as our newly developed Artificial Intelligence Lab.

The Master of Artificial Intelligence offers two stream options. In the project stream, you complete an AI postgraduate project and choose two electives from both AI and IT. In the research stream, you complete a research methods module, write a minor thesis, and select two electives.

We have been rated above world standard for our research in the field of AI and Image Processing. This course is among the most specialised in the country, with few other degrees focused on AI theory and applications in today’s climate. Curious and motivated students will develop advanced knowledge, placing them ahead of the pack for practical careers or research in AI.

This degree combines the essential elements of environmental science with environmental engineering.

You will learn to understand interactions in the environment and how to design solutions to environmental problems.

As a double degree graduate, you will be uniquely placed to work in a variety of industries and roles, with a combined understanding of the science and the ability to design technical solutions.

In your final year you will choose your minor study in environmental biology, environmental chemistry or groundwater engineering.

Advance your knowledge and technical skills to deliver energy efficient and sustainable buildings through a comprehensive understanding of the context, principles and practice of environmentally sustainable design.

In an increasingly urbanised world, shifting environmental priorities have placed sustainability in the spotlight.
A widening skills gap across industry means the demand for skilled professionals in energy efficient and sustainable building practices is on the rise.

In response to this industry demand, this degree will provide you with the essential skills and theory to design, develop and implement solutions for new and retrofitted buildings and sustainable built environment.

Your studies will prepare you to navigate the complex and rapidly changing environment of industry issues, trends, and economic and sustainability policies. You will get hands on experience in sustainability assessment tools and software used in the design and planning process. 

You will enhance your abilities to professionally communicate complex sustainability strategies and engage effectively within interdisciplinary teams to drive project outcomes and improve sustainability practice.

You will graduate with specialist knowledge of sustainable building design and technologies, building energy and climate engineering, and the management of sustainable building projects.

With its combination of chemistry, analytical sciences and chemical engineering, this course will put you at the forefront of technology development that could change the world.

You’ll work on product innovation, from the laboratory through to large-scale production, with a focus on efficient industrial processes to use less energy and produce less waste.

Your chemistry studies will ensure you have a theoretical understanding of analytical, instrumental, organic, inorganic and physical chemistry while you receive hands-on experience in the lab.

The chemical engineering component will bring together the science, practice and design, with a practical and vocational focus.

With the Master of Engineering (Telecommunication and Network Engineering) you’ll develop your knowledge and skills in the analysis, design, implementation and operation of Internet of Things networks, telecommunication systems/devices, and networks architecture, applications and services.

Enhance your professional skills in research by undertaking a major research project in your final year and learn new transferrable skills that you can use in a range of different industries.
You'll study a range of topics including:

• Internet of Things (IoT) networks: gain specialised knowledge in designing, building and operating IoT networks. IoT is a key technology for enabling smarter cities, better transport, connected factories, self-driving cars and smarter agriculture
• Internet applications, management and security: From enterprise networks to cloud computing, will gain indispensable skills in designing, building and operating networks and applications with emphasis on network security. You will master key skills in software-defined networks
• Telecommunications: whether wireless or wired, you will grasp the fundamentals of current wireless technologies, next generation 5G, optical fiber networks and satellite communication systems
• Telecommunication equipment design and development: Gain cutting-edge knowledge in the research and development of antennas and circuits in the RF, microwave and mmWave.
