The Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media (Directing) is delivered as part of a sequence, beginning with the Diploma of Screen and Media (Content Creation).

Upon satisfactory completion of the diploma you will be eligible to progress to the advanced diploma.

This advanced diploma gives you the broad base necessary to move ahead in the art, design, screen and media industries. Construction is not just about building sites, but about building a bigger picture: the planning, coordination, and control of a project from inception to delivery.

In this diploma, you'll examine the principles, techniques and regulations of the building and construction industry for all types of medium-rise and wide-span buildings up to 25 metres high.

This practical curriculum incorporates hands-on work and project-based learning. You'll experience many aspects of building projects and understand how they all relate to each other. You’ll go on site excursions to gain hands-on field experience which will include visits to residential and commercial construction projects.

Graduates have the option to continue further studies in construction, project management, or property services with RMIT.

RMIT's Bachelor of Space Science will develop critical skills in space science and technology, connecting the upstream (build/launch) and downstream (application of space-related products and services) industries.

Work integrated learning is an essential part of the degree. You'll be able to undertake a 12-week industry placement so that you can immerse yourself in the world of space. Some of these placements are run through Saber Astronautics, Bureau of Meteorology and CSIRO.

In the Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology - Electrical, you'll learn to design, validate, and evaluate electrical equipment and systems, as well as provide technical advice and sales.

Electrical engineers design and maintain electrical systems to improve the production and distribution of energy. As our society increasingly depends on electrical and electronic devices, electrical engineers are in high demand.

In your career as an electrical engineer, you will design and maintain electrical systems in areas like aerospace, power utilities, mining, oil and gas, wind and solar food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, data centres, transport and logistics, and many others.

You’ll gain skills in electrical design, programmable logic controllers, supervisory control and data acquisition systems, industrial data networking, and motor control. Following graduation, you’ll be qualified to work in the electrical industry.

This research degree supports your engagement in communities of practice where learning is fundamentally a social phenomenon.

The Master of Design may be undertaken in a project or thesis mode. This decision is made in consultation with your supervisor.

The Master of Commerce caters to students from many different backgrounds and is highly student-centred and flexible in its design, allowing you to choose from specialisation sequences from a range of business disciplines.

This degree is highly flexible in its design, allowing students to choose subjects from across a range of business disciplines. By completing this advanced degree, graduates are equipped with a solid base of skills and the specialised knowledge required to take their careers to the next level.

Students can complete a Master of Commerce through two years of full-time study, or even less if you're a business graduate. Online and flexible learning options are also available.

This major will enhance your analytical and problem-solving abilities and develop your understanding of the principles of finance.

Gain expertise in both the hardware and structure of computer systems, and the software used to control them.

In RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Computer and Network Engineering) (Honours) / Bachelor of Computer Science, you’ll acquire extensive knowledge of computer system architecture, software design and the necessary skills required for developing embedded hardware and network-based computer systems.

The computer science degree will develop a skill set that spans from theoretical and algorithmic foundations to cutting-edge developments in computing. You will gain deep knowledge of systems infrastructure, software methods and technologies, and application technologies.

The computer and network engineering degree will develop your skills in the field of embedded systems or smart devices, as well as provide you with expertise in large scale network design and the implementation of digital communication networks that are vital for many big businesses. 

This double degree will also allow you to focus your skills on a range of topics, covering the Internet of Things (loT), software engineering, artificial Intelligence, sensor networks, high-performance parallel processing, real-time embedded systems, signal processing, programming and software development.

Work integrated learning is embedded in the computer science and engineering degree, enabling you to gain practical experience and employability skills.

You’ll have the opportunity to design creative solutions through inspiring and sustainable design-and-build projects, take part in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge - a humanitarian-focused subject offered in all RMIT engineering degrees, undertake industry placements in Australia or overseas, and learn programming in our innovative Bootcamp2Studio model.

Gain the skills you need to become a technician in laboratories in hospitals, research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, private pathology and testing laboratories.

In the Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques, you will be taught to apply your knowledge of living systems to solving important practical issues including controlling disease and making the environment safer.
Using the latest industry-standard equipment, you’ll build the knowledge and skills required to work under supervision to:

• Examine micro-organisms or changes in cells and tissues
• Perform analysis of pathology, environmental and chemical samples
• Assist with research into biochemical or genetic processes.

You will also benefit from the opportunity to gain hands-on experience. Upon completion of this certificate, you may go on to work in vaccine production, food and materials testing, pathology, or research. Alternatively, you might prefer to pursue the Diploma of Laboratory Technology, or other further study of your choice.
