On the science side, you could complete a placement with one of our industry partners – previous students have worked with CSIRO, Bayer Crop Science, and various government departments.

Pharmaceutical Science

Drugs and therapies play an important role in the management and elimination of disease. The major in pharmaceutical science combines a broad range of scientific disciplines critical to the discovery, development and formulation of new medicinal drugs and therapies. Learn how drugs work, how they’re formulated, and why are some are given as tablets while others require injection. Explore why different therapies effect the human body in different ways and how we can provide safer and more effective pharmaceutical products. You’ll study topics directly related to formulation science – including medicinal chemistry and chemical analysis – and put theory into practice with laboratory experiences in formulation, medicinal chemistry and pharmacology. Learn about disease management, pharmaceutical regulation and good manufacturing practice. Sport management

Sport is an essential feature of Australian culture and is an important part of modern society. Our sport management industry is diverse, from managing grass roots sporting clubs and community organisations through to our elite sporting competitions, like the AFL or NRL. The sport manager  will have a strong background in both sport and business management.

The Sport Management major offered by the La Trobe Business School provides you with the business and management skills that you need to meet the demands of the growing sport industry including facilitating participation in sport, overseeing sport facilities and venues, sport marketing and revenue generation. The Master of Teaching (Primary) builds preservice teacher knowledge and skills to teach across the curriculum. There is an emphasis on researching teacher practice in numeracy and literacy.

La Trobe's Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Industrial) gives you a comprehensive engineering and business skillset, while building your ability to think critically and creatively. You'll discover how to respond to the evolving needs of employers and help them adapt to future challenges.

Begin by learning the fundamentals of industrial engineering, from math, and physics to design and problem solving. You'll then gain sought-after skills in fields that are presently transforming the business landscape, including automation and robotics, advanced material, simulation and modelling of manufacturing processes.

The course is delivered by leading academics in our high-tech facilities where you'll develop advanced technical skills in computer-aided design, systems integration, robotics, and digital manufacturing.

Every stage of our Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Industrial) equips you for your future career. You have the option to exit after your first year with a Diploma of Engineering Technology or after your second year with an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology.
