What you'll learn

This degree is made up of 40 courses. You will do 24 courses in law and 16 courses in accounting.

Laws (Honours)

As a UniSA Law student, you’ll gain valuable skills from day one, including in reasoning, reporting, analysis, negotiation, communication and advocacy. You will also experience what it's like to argue a case and provide legal advice.

Throughout your degree you will study core courses that teach you the fundamental legal concepts that underpin the Australian legal system. Courses such as torts, contracts, criminal law and constitutional law will give you a good understanding of basic legal principles.

Our Law program also features courses that build your leadership skills, intercultural communication, project management and capacity for community engagement.

You will have the opportunity to have practical learning experiences including mooting, negotiation, and witness examination. You will also engage in a community justice project, high-level research or an industry placement, ensuring you’ll be prepared for legal practise upon graduation.

Accounting

You will study core courses in areas such as accounting and economic theory. These courses will give you a solid grasp of business fundamentals. You will also learn the latest in specialist areas such as:

• Financial and management accounting
• Strategic financial analysis
• Sustainability accounting and reporting

Our Master of Finance (Global Investment and Trade) will equip you with the skills to manage critical issues facing global trade, international business and finance.

This degree will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the interconnections between institutions and global financial markets, as well as the implications of changing regulation and policy.

What you'll learn

The Master of Finance (Global Investment and Trade) is made up of 16 courses including two electives and two specialisation electives. You will study core courses in business and global investment and trade and select from specialised electives such as Behavioural Finance, International Business: Strategy and Ethics, and Applied Research in Finance. One of your elective options is also a 150-hour industry placement either in Australia or overseas.

This Master degree will not only help to further extend practical skills in your chosen specialisation, but it will also provide you with valuable business management skills.

The specialised fields you are able to choose from include:

• photographic, digital and graphic media, illustration and animation
• painting and drawing
• spatial and material studies, including public art, sculpture, textiles, glass, ceramics, jewellery/metal, and furniture.

A key focus of this degree is on the development and application of research practices and methodologies. You will graduate with the creative and critical thinking skills needed to review and analyse information. You will also develop skills in marketing and critical analysis.

The Master of Information Technology (Cyber Security) aims to develop cyber security professionals with advanced knowledge in cyber security governance, risk and compliance (GRC). To ensure you graduate job-ready, significant consultation with industry has taken place to establish both the technical and non-technical expertise demanded by employers. In recent years, calls for cyber security professionals with a strong working-knowledge of GRC in complex organisational environments has significantly increased. As such, this program will build your professional proficiency, as well your ability to examine and implement a range of technology-based cyber security defences to address emerging threats and attacks.

What you'll Learn

The Master of Information Technology (Cyber Security) has been designed to develop foundational, discipline specific knowledge in IT in your first semester of study. From there, you will complete courses that develop your knowledge in governance, risk management and compliance, business practices, network security and cyber criminal behaviour, before completing advanced topics in:

• security operations
• security architectures
• enterprise and cyber physical security, and
• cyber law and digital evidence.

The Master of Management (Tourism and Event Management) degree will explore contemporary management skills and you will study areas such as project management, sustainable tourism, and event management. You will be immersed in real-world challenges and have access to practical-based electives including industry internships, simulation projects and our entrepreneur-based course Startup Studio, which teaches you how to bring a business concept to life. You will also benefit from other experience-based learning opportunities, including overseas study and business mentoring. What you'll learn

This program is recognised as an approved program by Financial Adviser Standards, The Treasury1 and will equip you with the education requirements to practise as a qualified financial adviser.

We’ve worked closely with industry to develop our course content, and regularly consult with Treasury to ensure your Graduate Diploma meets the most up-to-date industry standards.

Our Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning is best suited to:

•     existing financial advisers with a non-relevant degree; or
•     existing financial advisers with no degree; or
•     new entrants with a relevant degree.*

What you'll learn

This program consists of eight advanced financial planning courses, which you can complete in one year of full-time study (or part-time equivalent). Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) based on Treasury requirements for existing advisers will be considered and can reduce the number of courses you must complete.
