What you'll learn

To be an effective communication designer you need to be able to identify problems, and to examine and develop strategies and approaches to overcome them. This qualification addresses design issues that you may be faced with in the workplace such as socio-cultural change, economic constraints, and environmental impacts.

This graduate diploma comprises design research studio classes, advanced research skills, introduction to sustainable design, business practice and a choice of electives. You will develop an advanced understanding of communication design principles and graduate with the ability to develop and design effective communications for a range of audiences. You will also acquire the cognitive skills needed to review and analyse research.
 

What you'll learn

This two year program comprises 16 courses including 4 electives and an industry placement/project.  You will start with seven core courses common to all specialisations in the IMBA. Through these you will develop advanced skills and expertise in areas of international management including:

• Global business environment
• People leadership and performance
• Economic principles for business
• Fundamentals of data analytics

You will then move into your tourism and event management specialisation studying areas such as the business of tourism, destination management, event management and digital innovations.

In this degree you will learn contemporary management skills and study areas such as marketing strategy and planning. You will gain the confidence to manage organisations and achieve business objectives in an efficient and effective manner.

What you'll learn

The Master of Management (Marketing) comprises 12 courses. You will complete four core courses and six Marketing specialisation courses.

Advance your knowledge and skills in contemporary management practice. Develop your expertise in core areas such as business ethics, business analytics, leadership and performance, and strategic thinking. Learn how to effectively manage organisations and achieve key business objectives.

Bachelor of Architectural Studies is a globally competitive degree focusing on the relationship between architecture, communication, technology, culture, and natural and built environments. This bachelor-level degree will provide you with the skills and knowledge to understand design principles and methods; building structures and construction systems; digital design and communication methods; sustainable design strategies; and the social and cultural history that shapes our world.

This degree has a strong practical focus – in architectural design studio classes, you will design real and speculative projects informed by contemporary architectural practice and construction, as well as undertake research and hands-on learning through industry-led and practically-focused coursework.

As well as the opportunity to gain relevant practical experience, you will gain the skills needed to design architectural environments that range in scale and complexity and develop:

• Research and methodological skills to integrate theoretical, behavioural, environmental, and ethical issues within architectural practice
  Understanding of the social and political context of architecture
  Verbal, written, and graphic communication skills, including traditional drawing methods and 2D and 3D computer-based representation skills that will enable you to visualise your designs using Virtual Reality and the Unreal game engine
  Conceptual and technical skills to demonstrate a broad understanding of knowledge in contemporary design culture, including Aboriginal and First Nations cultural practices.

This one-year Honours degree (or two years part-time) will introduce you to high-level research and help you develop the skills necessary to engage in rigorous research and analysis in your selected creative discipline. It can be used in preparation for postgraduate and PhD studies or research and leadership roles.

What you'll learn
You will learn skills necessary for conducting research in disciplines including Contemporary Art, Communication Design, Illustration Animation, Product Design, Cultural Studies, Film and Television, Journalism and Professional Writing, Communication and Media, Creative Writing, Social Media, Screen Studies and more. You will apply these skills to frame and develop your own research project, producing an outcome that responds to your research questions, project aims and objectives. Outcomes are visual and/or written, as appropriate for your disciplinary focus and project. Throughout your research studies you will be supervised by experienced research academics.

Start your unstoppable career as a health, physical activity, business and management specialist.

This unique double degree combines a deep understanding of the human body’s physicality with business skills in sports performance, marketing and leadership.

What you'll learn

Through this four-year double degree, you’ll complete core courses across both human movement and sport and recreation management.

Your first year will give you foundational knowledge in human anatomy, as well as the evolving discipline of human movement, exercise and sport science, health and physical activity, physiology and leisure concepts in modern Australian society. You’ll develop mathematical and statistical skills for business and management, learn about group and team psychology, and gain an understanding of motor development.

From your second year, you’ll get to broaden your knowledge in exercise physiology, marketing and economics principles, and develop a sound understanding of sport and recreation governance, structure, legislation and policy frameworks.

You can choose to study a sub-major (six courses) in Sports Coaching or you can complete four electives across a range of complementary areas including Exercise and Sports Science, Health, Physical and Outdoor Education or Nutrition.

Your third year of study will give you advanced skills in motor control and learning, nutrition, business intelligence and management, the sociology of health, physical activity and sport, sport governance, and entrepreneurship for social and market impact. You can also choose an advanced health elective or study the psychology of health, exercise and sport.

Your final year will develop your professional practice skills through an industry placement in either Human Movement or in Sport and Recreation Management. You’ll further develop your skills in strategic management, leadership in recreation and sport, recreation planning in the urban environment, and international business environments.
