The Bachelor of Laws provides students with a broad progressive legal education with a strong practical orientation to the law. The program meets the undergraduate academic requirements for admission to legal practice through the Legal Profession Admission Board and also satisfies the current pre-admission educational requirements for registration as a practicing accountant. Human Resource Management

The Human Resource Management Major is designed for people who seek careers in human resource management and industrial relations.

Graduates’ careers focus on enhancing the value of human and social capital through supporting employee engagement for many different kinds of organisations, market-oriented and community-oriented organisations and many kinds of people. The teaching philosophy is based on knowledge in action, a fusion of the Australia Human Resource Institute’s capabilities for HR professionals and the Western Sydney University Graduate Attributes designed to secure success.

An aim of the program is to instil those values and attitudes that can support leaders in judgements about balancing the pursuit of organisational objectives with creating opportunities for developing people’s capacities and careers. The perspectives are local and international, with an emphasis on the value of cultural and demographic diversity. Western's Bachelor of Occupational Therapy is an accredited program that prepares graduates for this highly regarded field. The first two years of the program combine studies in occupational therapy with a broad understanding of biomedicine, and various health science fields, to develop the professional competencies important for ethical and safe practice. The final two years focus predominately on occupational therapy practice skills, practical experience and specialised areas. Economics

The Economics major provides a broad pluralist perspective on fundamental aspects of relationships between individuals, firms, institutions and countries.

Students will learn how economies function and how public policy and the way organisations behave affect diverse social, economic and environmental problems. Students are introduced to a wide array of competing economic theories, so that they are critically informed about the ways in which they can transform the world.

A major in Economics prepares students to be active participants in addressing the wide range of problems faced by governments, social organisations and the business community in the domestic and international economies.

The Master of Chinese Medicine is a postgraduate degree designed for Chinese medicine practitioners wishing to strengthen their knowledge and better integrate into the health care system, and for graduates with a Chinese Medicine specialisation seeking a pathway to research. It can be completed in two years of full-time study or the equivalent in part-time study.

The program includes two major specialisations: a Clinician Specialist Advanced and Research Clinician Advanced. The Clinician Specialist Advanced stream features a substantial clinical placement in a teaching hospital in China affiliated with Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) in addition to clinical specialisation workshops. An alternative is also available for students who do not wish to complete the clinical placement overseas. The Research Clinician Advanced stream includes a significant research project which is supported by the National Institute of Complementary Medicine (NICM).

Students who complete the Master of Chinese Medicine from Western Sydney University, including the clinical placement at BUCM, will also be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Chinese Medicine from BUCM. Students may exit the Master of Chinese Medicine after one semester (i.e. after completing 40 credit points) with the Graduate Certificate in Chinese Medicine. Students in the clinical specialisation stream may exit the Master of Chinese Medicine after two semesters (i.e. after completing 80 credit points) with the Graduate Diploma in Chinese Medicine.
