This degree focuses on the science that underpins physical activity and exercise, and how it can be used to design, implement and evaluate exercise programs. Throughout your study, you will gain valuable practical experience while having access to state-of-the-art facilities, dedicated exercise and sport science labs, and sports venues.

In this program, you will learn how to work with people from a range of fitness levels and ages. This includes high-performance through general health and fitness, rehabilitation and management of chronic disease through exercise.

Areas of study you can choose from include biometrics, exercise physiology, exercise prescription, motor control and sports psychology. This program will also give you the professional skills you need to deliver high-quality care, with 140 hours of work placements. Gain hands on experience in our dedicated exercise and sport science labs.

When you graduate, you can choose from a range of career options in health and fitness centres, working in government agencies associated with sport, in teaching and research, as well as professional sporting groups, rehabilitation clinics and hospitals.

Economics

The Economics major provides a broad pluralist perspective on fundamental aspects of relationships between individuals, firms, institutions and countries. Students will learn how economies function and how public policy and the way organisations behave affect diverse social, economic and environmental problems. Students are introduced to a wide array of competing economic theories, so that they are critically informed about the ways in which they can transform the world. A major in Economics prepares students to be active participants in addressing the wide range of problems faced by governments, social organisations and the business community in the domestic and international economies. Students who study economics can expect to develop their analytical and problem solving skills and to be intellectually challenged, whether they view the discipline as providing specific vocational skills or as an area of academic and intellectual interest to them. Agrifood

This major provides hands-on experience, developing confidence and giving graduates an excellent foundation for careers in: teaching, research, biotechnology and industry. The flexibility of the course also enables students to combine their interest in AgriFood with other disciplines including animal science, data science, ecology, innovative foods, heath and business

The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) program satisfies the academic degree requirements for admission to practice as an Australian lawyer. Students will engage in collaborative face-to-face problem and case-based learning, will be supported by online learning materials, and will participate in authentic assessment to develop knowledge and skills. The program provides students with a broad progressive legal education with a strong practical orientation to the law. Students develop skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, research, communication, collaboration, self-management, and ethical and professional awareness and judgement. Students will have the opportunity to develop skills in legal advocacy, negotiation, and legal technology and extend their professional and learning experiences through work integrated learning, clinical placement and international exchange engagements.

Accounting

Areas of focus in the Bachelor of Criminology include criminal justice institutions and practices, the development of criminology as a discipline and its various strands, forms and patterns of victimisation, crime prevention strategies and debates, aspects of juvenile justice, the evolution of prisons and different forms of punishment, law enforcement and surveillance, violence, gender and crime, and cultural depictions of crime and contemporary debates in criminology. The degree addresses the criminalisation of disadvantage through race, class, disability and gender, with a focus on the nexus between social and criminal justice. This will equip students with the specialist skills and knowledge that a new graduate would need on entering the workforce or on proceeding to advanced study.

Speech pathology assesses and treats disorders of communication in areas such as speech, voice, language and swallowing in children and adults. Make a difference in the lives of others with the skills learned in this degree.The first two-years of the program combine evidence-based studies in speech pathology with a broad understanding of biomedical and health science, linguistics and psychology to develop the professional competencies essential for ethical and safe practice, high quality care and the skills to work in multidisciplinary teams. The final two years focus on the development of advanced knowledge in speech pathology and clinical practice, which are used during clinical placements to treat patients in the community.
